One thing we’ve learnt over the years is that specifying stone early almost always leads to a better outcome.

Not just aesthetically, but technically as well.

It allows more consideration around detailing, slab sizing, drainage, finishes, and how materials transition throughout a project, especially between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The projects that feel the most resolved are usually the ones where materials have been considered from the beginning, rather than treated as an afterthought.

Interested to hear if others are seeing the same across current projects.

After sharing the Mountain View Retreat project, we couldn’t not come back to one of our favourite spaces in the home.

This bathroom really shows what stone can do. There’s a softness to it that instantly makes the space feel calm, while the natural variation adds just enough movement that keeps it feeling relaxed and lived-in rather than overly polished.

Combined with Plumbline Bathware tapware and bathware, the palette stays simple, but feels rich and layered.
