Tōu Ake Mana

Tōu Ake Mana Tōu Ake Mana is a Māori centred relational framework grounded in kaupapa Māori and shaped by the voices of rangatahi.

It is designed to walk alongside those navigating vulnerability and life transitions, while honour identity, culture, and connection. Tōu Ake Mana was born out of the Pathways to Resilience and Youth Transitions research led by Massey University. It is a Māori-centred relational framework designed to strengthen outcomes when working alongside rangatahi and their whānau. Building on this foundation

, Tōu Ake Mana contributed to the Relational Resources for Change project, funded by MBIE (MAUX2006), to develop a kete rauemi that supports kaimahi and whānau in enhancing relational practice. We acknowledge and thank MBIE for their support in advancing this kaupapa, enabling us to create resources that uphold the principles of mātauranga Māori and empower communities.

When crafting pūtōrino becomes more than mahi — it becomes precious weekend whānau time. Rauemi for our kete.

✨ Back in Wairarapa with Tōu Ake Mana! ✨
What an incredible week connecting and sharing with whānau. Here’s a quick recap of last week:
1. Emergency Management Planning – A big mihi to Kuini and Te Kāhui Kaumātua. Your insights, sharing and reflections made this session a blast!
2. Rongoā Booster – Gems galore! 🌿 Thank you to the whānau exploring Uhi Manuka and the wisdom of rākau. 🌱

3. Maramataka Wānanga – Awesome kōrero with Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa kaimahi. So many opportunities for whānau to engage with maramataka! 🌙

Ko te Waikamo o Rangi, nā ko te Waikohu o Papa, Ka tau ko te tōmairangi aroha o a rātou tamariki.
Kia ora mai tātou katoa.

We’re stepping into a new chapter with Tōu Ake Mana — a journey that’s been years in the making.
As we move forward in our mahi (and maybe even our life’s work), we’re excited to start sharing more of what we've been up to.

Keep checking back — we’ll be uploading stories, moments, and mahi from the past few years. This site was created as part of a research programme (MAUX2006) funded by MBIE. We thank them for their support.
Let’s walk this path together.
