Sometimes magic is found in the smallest places.

A mum in our neighbourhood created this sweet little fairy door for her son, tucked at the bottom of a tree, so we added a little crystal path for the fairies to follow.

It’s such a beautiful reminder that magic doesn’t have to be big or complicated. Sometimes it’s found at the base of a tree, in a neighbourhood walk, or in the way we choose to make the world feel a little more special.

May we always notice the magic around us.

Crystal Family Focus: Gypsum 🤍

The Gypsum family is a beautiful example of how one soft mineral can form in many different ways.

From luminous Selenite and silky Satin Spar, to earthy Desert Rose and carved Alabaster, this crystal family is often connected with clarity, calm, reflection, and gentle space cleansing.

Selenite is widely known in crystal practices for cleansing and charging other crystals. It is often used to refresh the energy of a space, support clarity, and create a peaceful atmosphere.

Satin Spar is also commonly used in crystal rituals for cleansing and charging crystals. With its soft glow and fibrous texture, it can be a beautiful tool for calm routines, gentle grounding, and intention-setting.

Scientifically, Gypsum is a hydrated calcium sulfate mineral, which means water is part of its crystal structure. It is also very soft, sitting around 2 on the Mohs hardness scale, so it should be handled gently and kept dry.

Use Gypsum crystals as part of mindful rituals, quiet reflection, calming spaces, or intention-setting practices.

Which Gypsum variety are you most drawn to: Selenite, Satin Spar, Desert Rose, or Alabaster?

As we move closer to the Full Moon on 31 May, this is a beautiful time to begin gently preparing your energy, your space, and your crystals.

You do not need to wait until the exact night of the Full Moon to connect with its energy. In the days leading up to it, you can start simple rituals that help you slow down, reflect, cleanse, and release what feels heavy.

A few gentle rituals to try leading up to the Full Moon:

Cleanse your crystals with smoke, sound, moonlight, or Selenite
Write down what you are ready to release
Place your crystals on a windowsill in the evening light
Sit quietly with one crystal and set an intention
Clear your space with fresh air, gentle music, or a calming ritual
Take a few slow breaths and ask: What am I ready to let go of?

Crystals you may feel drawn to during this time:
Clear Quartz for clarity
Amethyst for calm
Selenite for cleansing
Moonstone for intuition
Black Tourmaline for grounding
Rose Quartz for emotional support

The Full Moon is not about doing things perfectly. It is about creating a soft moment of reflection and reconnecting with what feels true for you.

Tell us in the comments: which crystal are you reaching for as the Full Moon approaches? 🌙

This week’s crystal family is the Tourmaline Group.

Tourmaline is an actual mineral group, not just one single crystal. It is made up of boron silicate minerals that share a similar crystal structure, but can vary widely in colour and chemical composition.

Some well-known members of the Tourmaline Group include schorl, elbaite, dravite, uvite, and liddicoatite.

In the crystal healing realm, these are often known through their colour names. Black tourmaline is often connected with grounding and energetic protection, pink tourmaline with heart healing and emotional softness, green tourmaline with growth and balance, brown tourmaline with steadiness, and watermelon tourmaline with compassion and heart-centred alignment.

Minerally, tourmaline has a trigonal crystal system and is usually around 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it much harder than softer crystal families like mica or calcite.

The Tourmaline Group is a beautiful reminder that one crystal family can hold many different expressions, colours, and energetic qualities.

Save this for later if you are learning about real crystal families and mineral groups.

And if you are resonating with the Tourmaline family, get in touch for a piece of your own.

Fluorite is one of those crystals that feels like a deep breath for the mind.

Known for its beautiful colours, natural banding, and cubic formations, fluorite is often used for clarity, focus, energetic cleansing, and helping scattered energy feel more settled.

In the crystal healing realm, fluorite is often treated like a little family of its own, because each colour is worked with in a slightly different way. Purple fluorite is often connected with intuition and spiritual awareness, green fluorite with emotional balance and heart healing, clear fluorite with clarity and cleansing, and rainbow fluorite with alignment and energetic support.

Minerally, fluorite is calcium fluoride with a Mohs hardness of 4, which means it is softer and more delicate than many other crystals. It is a beautiful piece to work with, but it does need gentle care.

Spiritually, fluorite is often chosen when you are feeling overwhelmed, mentally busy, or needing support with focus and organisation.

Save this for later if you are learning about crystal families.

Crystal Family Series: Mica

For week 3 of our crystal family series, we’re exploring the Mica family — a group of sheet silicate minerals known for their layered structure, softness, and natural shimmer.

What makes mica so distinctive is its ability to split into thin sheets, which is part of what gives this family its delicate feel and reflective beauty. Common members of the family include Muscovite, Biotite, Phlogopite, and Lepidolite.

Compared with Quartz and Feldspar, mica minerals are much softer, often sitting around 2.5 to 3 on the Mohs scale, depending on the specific member of the family.

Lepidolite is one of the best-known mica crystals in the crystal space and is especially loved for its soft pink to purple colouring and shimmering appearance.

Get in touch via DM or through our website if a Mica crystal is calling to you. We would love to help you find the right piece or bracelet for your journey.
