Hey 👋

It’s been a while! I’ve needed to take some time off here, I got a new ‘real’ job so have allowed myself some time away to adjust. I’m now feeling recharged, creative and ready to get back into it!

So I thought while I’m starting to be more active around here I’d reintroduce myself. I’m Philippa (a lot of people call me Pippa too) in live in the beautiful Waikato with my husband, teenage children and pets.

Essential oils have been a passion of mine since I stumbled across them 6 years ago, not expecting much, I was amazed at how well they supported my emotional well-being during a difficult time of my life.

Humans and plants have evolved together on earth for thousands of years, turning to plants for help is what our ancestors did before modern medicine. They are powerful and have many therapeutic uses. Some people think they are ‘woo woo’ and ‘hippie’…that couldn’t be further from the truth! They can help everyone!

How cool is this little waterfall!? It’s not far from our new house, it’s pretty exciting being able to discover new places. Now that the days are getting warmer and lighter we can get out and explore more 🥰

🤕 Known as ‘Soldier’s wound wort’ ‘staunch wort’ and ‘nosebleed plant’. During World War One soldiers used yarrow on the battlefield’s to dress wounds, stem bleeding and prevent infection.

🏺The name Achillea comes from the Ancient Greek myth of Achilles who when wounded in battle was treated with Yarrow by goddess Aphrodite.

🌸Despite the plants white and pink flowers, the essential oil it produces is a deep blue colour. This is to its chamazulene content.
