Reflection:
In this scenario, the conversation begins with the sharing of perspectives—different ways of viewing reality. However, as the conversation progresses, one view is presented as absolute, leaving no room for differing beliefs or interpretations. This is where projection begins to surface. Projection occurs when one's own beliefs or experiences are imposed onto another, often invalidating the other person’s view.

In contrast, a perspective is a personal way of seeing or understanding something, which inherently allows space for other viewpoints. A perspective acknowledges that one’s own understanding is subjective, based on personal experiences or beliefs.

Projection, on the other hand, transforms this personal understanding into a "universal truth," imposing it on others as the only valid way to see the world.

By maintaining respect for different perspectives and avoiding projections, we create space for dialogue that honours each person’s unique experiences and beliefs, without invalidating or overshadowing others' truths.

This is part of a new course/book I am putting together around Sacred relationships and communication.
