💚 Time for an update and reintroduction 💚

Kia ora, I'm Alesha.
My whānau and I recently relocated to Māpua after a decade in Golden Bay.
My babies are now teenagers and life has a new rhythm, a different season 🍂

At The Mother Well, I offer a few different massage modalities, available to all genders, ages, stages. You can find the details in the pinned posts at the top of the page 💆🏽‍♂️

My style is therapeutic, combining efflurage and deep tissue work, in a balance responsive to the individual. Every being, every body, is different; I atune to that in my practice 🍃

I have a special place in my heart for supporting māmā, and offer two pregnancy massage modalities. I am a birth and postpartum doula, a birth keeper, available for a limited caseload in this deep act of companionship 💕

I'm professional and authentic, my mahi comes from the heart. My clients aren't a dollar sign or a number and it is my honour to provide care for the moment we share.
I'm sensitive to our nervous systems, to those with chronic conditions, and neurodiversity. We're all a bit spicy really right 😌

Outside of business hours I'll be barefoot in nature as much as absolutely possible, or cooking up something soulful in my kitchen 🌿

Thank you for reading 💚
Ka kite 👋🏽

To practice what I preach. Kids off for the final morning of school for the year, giving me (and the housework) 2 hours of peace. Pelvic steaming and moxibustion, self ceremony for pelvic and spiritual health. Phew 😌 2025 has been a big year. Time for sunshine, rest, whānau, swims, berries, nectarines, pavlova, sleep ins, evening walks. Massaging again in January, reach out if you'd like to book in a restful moment for yourself or a loved one. Sending love and blessings to you all ✨🌻

Home for tea.
I've been away for a few days, witness to and in support of, a triumphant hospital birth.
The smell of baking hit me as my sleep deprived body relaxed back into home.
Life is far from perfect social media shots, but a safe home and son who likes baking cookies is worth a moment of gratitude.
Happy birthday little miracle baby ✨

Alongside my work with The Mother Well, I am studying towards a degree in social work.
I was chuffed to read this wee note in my human development textbook today: "...women who experienced doula care were 53% less likely to have a cesarean delivery and 58% less likely to have postpartum depression."
I love being a doula! It is as natural to me as being woman, mother, sister, friend 💚
