Halcyon Wellness Dannevirke Halcyon Wellness is a designated space to support the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of oneself.

Dannevirke Yoga merged into Halcyon Wellness is now located at 36 High Street Dannvirke. Along with the number of classes now available, members have more than yoga to choose from - SuperCue, Active Living & Wellness Coaching, Yin Healing Sessions and personalised programmes. Come and enjoy the depth of traditional yoga asana's instructed by Rebekah Charlton. A yoga class is the practice of asanas

(hatha yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation. Classes are suitable for all levels as modifications can be taught as required. About the instructor
Rebekah Charlton has a love for yoga and continually seeks mastery of the asanas, which as Patanjali says, occurs when practise is effortless. Rebekah has taught yoga for many years however, there have been times she has focused on her personal practice rather than teaching. She has extended her knowledge by attending trainings with well-known teachers such as Zhander Remete, Peter Scott, Melondie Batchlor. Rebekah has significant experience in the design and delivery of exercise programmes, specifically for older adults. Enliven was lead agent for the ACC Live Stronger for Longer iniative and Rebekah was project lead for Tarawhiti and Hawkes Bay, improving the quality, quantity and delivery of Community Strength and Balance Programmes. She went on create SuperCue a Not-for-profit that delivers fitness programmes online, on DVD and in the community. SuperCue also trains instructors to teach and deliver SuperCue classes. Rebekah started teaching Les Mills group fitness classes at the age of 15 and has continued teaching various styles of group fitness for the last 25 + years. Classes such as:
• Tai Chi for seniors in Dannevirke and Pahiatua
• Personal training, multi-training, & group classes throughout the Tararua area
• Active Living and Wellness Coaching for Tararua Mental Health, Mid Central DHB
• Design and delivery of the strength and balance classes for Enliven in Hawkes Bay

• Zumba Fitness for Central Health Waipukurau
• Yoga classes - Waipawa and Dannevirke
• Les Mills Body Balance and Step classes

These sessions teach a gentle, modified form of Tai Chi that is easy to learn and designed to help you experience the benefits sooner.

Tai Chi is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It’s low impact, safe when practised correctly, and a wonderful way to move your body with confidence. Regular practice can help improve strength, flexibility, posture, and balance — reducing the risk of falls and supporting everyday movement.

Beyond the physical benefits, Tai Chi is also known to support overall wellbeing, helping to manage stress, lift mood, and improve mental clarity. It may also assist in managing conditions such as arthritis, heart and respiratory issues, and diabetes.
