Dear friends, as many of you know, fate, in the form of Covid, led me from ‘my life’ in India to New Zealand. In that strange and uncertain time, homeless, but never loveless, grace arrived through a great woman Marion Reid who bought a grand old house in Te Horo and said, “Open a meditation centre here.” So, along with her wonderful son Mayank Mal Reid, we did!
Marion is the foundation upon which the Wisdom of Meditation Centre came into being, and what has now fondly become known simply as ‘WOM’. It has been an extraordinary five years together in this sadhana, the path of living in the recognition of One Self in all beings.
In the small hours of Thursday morning, Marion took her last breath, peacefully, graciously, and willingly as she was truly ready to be released from her worn-out, 95-year-old body.
In her honour, Spirit of Kirtan will play tomorrow – Saturday 6 June, 7:30 pm – here at 'WOM' Wisdom of Meditation
Thank you with all my heart, dear great warrior of Life, Marion. As children, you played with my mother on the same street in Lyall bay. Many years later, independent of that connection, I met you when I was 17 years old. You were always curious about where my struggles at that time had led me, what it had opened in me, and soon we walked that same path that led us to the resolution of human struggle: knowledge of our immortal and blissful Self.
You never compromised with ignorance. Your discerning, sharp intelligence saw through the false and now rests in the Real.
