Nia classes blend the freedom of dance with the form of martial arts. Gain flexibility and build strength as you move with the music - it's always loads of fun too!! All welcome - no experience needed. Classes are in Raglan on Wednesdays, Hamilton on Fridays and Te Uku on Saturdays

Our Nia class focus last week was on range of motion to develop greater mobility. Every Nia class has a new focus to build sensory awareness of different aspects of our movement. All abilities and fitness levels are welcome. In Nia class you adapt the movements to your own needs.

This profile pic from 8 years ago was from the day I taught my very first Nia class. I think I was covering for Hana Stevenson that evening then shortly after I started teaching my own Nia class at Gordonton Hall. Happiest of memories and so glad I'm still teaching Nia 8 years later

To make up for my cancelled classes I have found a couple of great Nia classes videos from Youtube - the first one is a Classic Nia class of the routine Bailando (60min) & the second one is a moving to heal seated Nia class (30min) you may like to dance them a couple of times over the week or you could search for others on Youtube yourself. I hope you are all staying well and keeping moving.

I need to take another week off teaching Nia classes for further rest and recovery time from this persistent flu. All classes 10-15 August are cancelled. Classes should restart from 19 August.
