Personally I see reflexology as being different to traditional massage and is in a class of its own using specific finger thumb techniques to apply pressure.

Reflexology is a type of massage focussed arround key pressure points in the hands and feet. It uses specific movements and massage to stimulate different points on the body and can aid in the management of stress and help with general well-being.

Join our Introduction to Reflexology workshop coming up in August to learn more about this practice from tutor and practitioner Fiona who will take you through some practical exercises as well as some of the key principles behind this practice.

The Power of the Solar Plexus Hold 👣✨

In Reflexology, the solar plexus reflex is one of the most powerful points we work on. Nestled right beneath the ball of the foot, this point acts like a gentle "reset button" for your entire nervous system.

When a practitioner gently stimulates and holds the solar plexus reflex, it helps:
🌿 Calm the Mind: Signaling the body to step out of "fight or flight" mode and drop into a state of deep relaxation.
🌿 Release Physical Tension: Easing that tight, knotted feeling we so often carry in the upper abdomen.
🌿 Support Digestion: Encouraging the body to return to its natural, balanced "rest and digest" state.

The solar plexus hold is a favorite technique among our practitioners, often used at the beginning or end of a treatment to anchor a deep sense of peace.

If your body is in need of a reset, book a session with a registered RNZ Professional Reflexologist and experience the grounding power of the solar plexus hold for yourself!

Reflexology Is Not About Fixing. It is About Reminding

Reflexology doesn’t force the body to change, it reminds the body of what it already knows.

Through precise touch on the feet, the nervous system softens, circulation improves and the whole body begins to work with more harmony. Many people feel calmer, lighter and more grounded after just one session.

When the body feels safe, it does what it’s designed to do: rebalance itself naturally.
