For women in Vanuatu living with complex pelvic floor conditions, access to specialist care can be difficult — particularly in a country where 83 islands are separated by water and specialist urogynaecology services are not currently available.

Last month, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr Richard Foon led a specialist medical team to Vanuatu as part of the New Zealand Medical Treatment Scheme, providing much needed urogynaecology care, surgery and training across two hospitals.
