Tausi Moana marks the next chapter in the evolution of the Moana Pasifika Community programme. Originally established to nurture Pacific youth sporting talent, reduce financial barriers to participation and create high-trust community events, the programme has built a strong foundation through sport, connection and community.

For women in Vanuatu living with complex pelvic floor conditions, access to specialist care can be difficult — particularly in a country where 83 islands are separated by water and specialist urogynaecology services are not currently available.

Last month, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr Richard Foon led a specialist medical team to Vanuatu as part of the New Zealand Medical Treatment Scheme, providing much needed urogynaecology care, surgery and training across two hospitals.
