💙 SEPTEMBER IS A SPECIAL MONTH FOR NEURO CONNECTION 💙

This September, we’re celebrating more than 30 years of movement, progress and connection in our community.

Neuro Connection Foundation’s story began in September 1994, when our founder, Frank Schwanner, recognised the need for ongoing neurological rehabilitation for adults and had a vision to create something that could help.
More than three decades later, that vision continues.

The photos may have changed slightly, the faces may have changed, and our programmes have grown — but the heart of what we do remains the same.

Every week at our Tui Glen Centre, people living with stroke and other neurological conditions work towards their own goals — building strength, confidence, independence and connection, one movement at a time.
That’s why September is also the month of our Annual Appeal — Every Movement Counts.

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing a little of our history, celebrating the people who make Neuro Connection what it is today, and showing just what your support can make possible.

And on Tuesday 22 September, we’ll be taking Every Movement Counts out into our community for our special Annual Appeal Bucket Collection Day. 🪣💛
We’ll share where you can find us very soon!

For more than 30 years, our community has helped keep Frank’s vision moving forward.
Here’s to the next chapter — because Every Movement Counts. 💙💛

After seven wonderful years with Neuro Connection, we recently farewelled our lovely Soyoung as she begins a new chapter. 💙

Over those years, Soyoung brought so much warmth, kindness and care to our centre, and became a very special part of our Neuro Connection community. It’s safe to say we miss her already!

Soyoung left us with a beautiful farewell message, including these words:

“Living so far from my own family was not always easy, but this community became my whānau who welcomed me, cared for me, and made me feel that I truly belonged.”

Thank you, Soyoung, for seven years of dedication, helpfulness, warmth, cooking and care. We feel very lucky that Neuro Connection was part of your journey — and even luckier that you were part of ours. 💙

We wish you every happiness and success for the adventure ahead. 🌻✨

Progress isn't measured by perfection—it's measured one movement at a time. 💙

We're privileged to witness the determination, encouragement and connection that fills our rehabilitation groups every day.

While the risk of stroke increases as we get older, strokes don't only affect the elderly. Every year, younger adults experience strokes too.
A stroke can happen suddenly and without warning, changing lives in an instant.
But with the right rehabilitation, support, and determination, recovery is possible.
At Neuro Connection Foundation, we support adults living with the effects of stroke and other neurological conditions, helping them rebuild movement, confidence, independence, and connection through affordable physical rehabilitation💙

🍋 Fresh from the garden, with kindness to share! 💛

One of our wonderful clients Vlado has generously gifted us a big bucket of beautiful organic lemons from his home for everyone to enjoy.

Please help yourself to a few and take a little taste of kindness home with you. 🍋

Thanks Vlado for thinking of our Neuro Connection whānau – these thoughtful gestures make our community so special. 💙💛

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Winter Soup Fundraiser. It was so lovely to see our centre filled with conversation and the delicious aroma of homemade soup 🧡

A very special thank you to our amazing team, who lovingly prepared such a delicious selection of soups, and to our incredibly generous client, Lou, who shared not one, but two family favourites with us – his beautiful Hungarian Goulash and traditional Hungarian Cauliflower Soup. Your kindness and generosity meant so much.

Congratulations to our lucky door prize winner, Joline, who took home a $50 The Trusts voucher! 🎉

We’d also like to extend our sincere thanks to Turkish Bread NZ for generously supplying their delicious garlic naan breads, which were the perfect accompaniment to our soups and were enjoyed by everyone.

Thank you again to our wonderful clients, whānau, volunteers and supporters. Days like these remind us that Neuro Connection is about so much more than rehabilitation – it’s about community, friendship, and sharing special moments together. 💙

Every arrival tells a story.
A story of resilience.
A story of determination.
A story of someone choosing to keep moving forward.
We're honoured to be a part of those journeys. 💙💛

1 in 4 of us will be impacted by a stroke in our lifetime.

Take a moment and look around your family, workplace, sports team, neighbours or friends. The chances are, stroke has already touched someone you know.

Recovery doesn't end when hospital rehabilitation finishes. That's why we're here — providing ongoing physical rehabilitation, support, and connection for people rebuilding their lives after stroke and other neurological conditions.

Nobody should have to navigate recovery alone. 💙💛

🥣 Exactly One month to go until our Winter Warmer Soup Fundraiser!

We're counting down the days to an afternoon of delicious homemade soup, great company, and community spirit. ❄️❤️

A huge thank you to for once again supporting us with their incredible garlic naan breads. They were a crowd favourite last time, and we're so grateful to have them back on board for 2026!

Every bowl purchased helps support the ongoing rehabilitation services we provide for people living with stroke and neurological conditions.

Mark Wednesday 8 July in your diary – we'd love to see you there!
