On top of my birth bag, I have this in the boot of my car too! This started when me and my husband would take the kids out often and because they were bigger, we stopped taking baby bags out. We found we still needed wipes, tissues and sooky plasters every now and then! So I made this wee box with extras. The wipes are in my glove box and I have a box of tissues too. It came in handy when my niece would ask if I’ve got pads, my māmā asked for pain relief or our babies when they got kai or inu on their hands! I have another box (smaller) on top that I made with other things in it like

•hand cream
•nail clippers and nail file
•spanner and screw driver
•claw clips
•inhaler

If you have any questions or need something explained BETTER, let me know! I’ll elaborate.

Also…. I feel like I said I would explain something in the caption…. But I don’t remember so….. oh well 🤣

Also! I don’t have it in the video, but I’ve got socks and a charger in my pēke! They fell on the floor before I started videoing and I didn’t realise šŸ¤£šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

Your haerenga, your rules!

Being hapū is a season of becoming
It isn’t about perfection. It isn’t about pressure

It’s about being tautoko’d
It’s about understanding your choices
It’s about building trust - in your tinana, in your pēpi, in your care

There is no one right way to hīkoi this path.
Only the way that feels right to you.

Your hapÅ«tanga, held with care and mana šŸ’š

Tēnā koutou katoa!
Ko Taylor rāua ko Ngarama tēnei ā˜ŗļøšŸ’•

We’re so excited (and slightly terrified šŸ˜…) to finally introduce this space to you.
This platform is about bringing healthcare back into the everyday lives of our hapori! In a way that feels safe, familiar, and genuinely welcoming.

This is not just ā€œmyā€ space, and it never has been. This kaupapa exists because of the people who have walked before us, walked alongside us, and those who will walk with us in the future. It is shaped by whānau, by kōrero, by shared whakaaro — and it will only ever grow through collective care and contribution šŸ¤

Our biggest moemoeā? To create a centre here in Waihopai where whānau can walk in as they are, breathe out, and just be.

✨Ko wai au?✨
Ko Taylor ahau, and I’m currently in my final year of my Bachelor of Midwifery (yes… FINAL 😬). I’ll be sharing what life looks like in the health field through the eyes of a tauira. The real, the raw, the funny, the ā€œwhy did I sign up for this again?ā€ moments.
You’ll also see some cameos from other tauira, and kōrero from māmā and whānau along the way. And don’t worry…. once I graduate, and I’m a big bad baby midi, we’ll move right into what it’s actually like being a midwife šŸ‘€

āœØÄ€, ko wai a Ngarama?✨
My best friend. My 2IC. My HG in all of this šŸ’• Ngarama is the brains behind the scenes! The admin queen, pakihi mastermind-in-training (accounting student šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø), and the reason our content will look cool instead of chaotic 🤣
Those slick transitions, colourful posts, and aesthetic vibes? Yeah… that’s all her šŸ˜šŸ’…

✨Te Moemoeā – The Dream✨
One day, we want to open a clinic that offers holistic, kaupapa Māori services for whānau, including:
🌱 Mirimiri, romiromi, rongoā Māori
🌱 Catch-ups, kai and kōrero
🌱 Pātaka kai, māra kai, pā harakeke
🌱 Kai and kākahu parcels
🌱 A space for māmā and whānau to come during the day with their pēpi!! no pressure, no judgement, no rush

The village that lives within us, but that many of us weren’t raised with, is what we want to help rebuild šŸ’š

From a midwifery lens, this also includes:

šŸ¤ Midwifery care for māmā and whānau
šŸ¤ Teaching pāpā and tamariki how to connect with māmā and puku pēpi through touch and mirimiri
šŸ¤ Antenatal and postnatal teaching
šŸ¤ Muka tie making
šŸ¤ Uku for taonga pÅ«oro during hapÅ«tanga, whakawhānau, and ipu whenua
šŸ¤ Karakia, oriori, waiata learning
šŸ¤ Breastfeeding support
This is the long game. The slow weave. The whakaaro that keeps us going.

✨He mihi aroha✨
I want to thank everyone who has walked alongside me on this haerenga so far!!! those who have supported me, believed in me, and those who continue to hold me up now and into the future. There really aren’t words big enough to express how grateful I am. Just know my aroha for you is deep and enduring šŸ¤

ā€œEhara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.ā€
My strength is not that of one, but of many.

Nō mātou te honore!! thank you for being here šŸ’•
