Kapiti Hot Yoga, home of the original 26+2 hot yoga series

Kapiti Hot Yoga, home of the original 26+2 hot yoga series Welcome to Kapiti Hot Yoga, we teach the original 26+2 hot yoga sequence, commonly known as Bikram Yoga. Heat + Yoga, how it works.

The sequence is made up of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises and is practiced in a heated room. When the body is warm, muscles, fascia, and connective tissue are more elastic allowing for greater flexibility and less chance of injury. Combine this with the intelligent sequence of poses that safely stretches & strengthens muscles, ligaments, and joints, and you have the perfect system of exercise to bring back natural range of motion to bodies. The sequence is made up of beginner's poses and is suitable for all abilities. Our goal is to teach students to take each pose step by step. Step one, learning to engage the right muscles and align the body. Step two, learning to breathe and still the mind once in the pose. And, step three, finding your depth, both physically and mentally. Students are led through the sequence by a set of detailed instructions designed to guide them in and out of poses safely. All classes are the same; same poses, same breathing exercises, same instructions - so you know exactly what to expect.

POV: Locked in - uninterrupted attention to yourself and unbothered by the external. That is the gift of Bikram Yoga. Everything outside of ourselves is a reflection of our human revolution. How far we can handle the pressure inside class will show outside of class. You can grow flowers - or you can grow weeds. We are consciousness itself. You are the posture.

The hot room is for everyone but only for those truly wanting transformation.

If you've ever thought about trying hot yoga, hot pilates or yin yoga,
but wondered whether you'd be able to keep up...

Guess what? You don't have to.

You don't have to be flexible.

You don't have to be fit.

You don't even have to do every posture.

You just have to show up.

There's a mat waiting for you. 💞

When Susan reflects on discipline, she doesn't talk about perfect postures or pushing harder.

She talks about showing up.

About practising with the body she brought that day.

About choosing consistency over perfection.

That's what discipline has become.

Not something imposed from the outside.

Something built from within.

Susan's full reflection, Discipline in 26+2: How Our Understanding Has Evolved, is on our blog if you'd like to read it.

This Saturday, Jude and I are getting together for three hours to talk about one of our favourite subject - the original 26+2 hot yoga practice. 😊

We’ll be working our way through the Standing Series in a gently heated room, with plenty of time for questions along the way.

We’ll focus on:
- the why behind each posture
- alignment and technique
- simple tips and modifications that can create those real "lightbulb" moments in your practice.

I’m especially excited to have Jude Best joining me for this one. Jude brings years of experience to the 26+2 hot yoga practice - along with an infectious enthusiasm for it that I know you’ll love.

Whether you’re relatively new to the practice or have been doing it for years, there is always more to learn.

Saturday 5 September | 2–5pm. Click here for more info and to book:

🌱 It’s the first day of spring.

A season of new beginnings.

Although in yoga, beginning isn’t something we do just once.

We begin. We return. We learn a little. We wobble. We try again.

Spring is a beginning. But then again, so is every class.

Our latest reflection, Beginnings, is now on the blog.

👉Read it here and tell us what you think.

When it comes to hot yoga, it's easy to think progress looks like deeper backbends.
Better balance. Or stronger postures.

Sometimes it does.

But more often than not, the biggest signs of progress are the things that no one notices.

The moment you stop comparing yourself to the person next to you.

The moment you choose to rest instead of push.

The moment you stay present instead of giving up.

Those moments might not look impressive.

But they're often where the real practice begins.

Come and experience it for yourself. Buy our Intro Pass and get 2-weeks unlimited access to all our classes for $49. No lock ins, no catches, just a proven practice.

THE TEACHERS BECAME THE STUDENTS THIS WEEKEND 🔥

Three days, plenty of sweat, a few sore muscles and a whole lot of learning!
Niki, Caitlin, Tracy and I spent the weekend completing our Inferno Hot Pilates teacher training — learning, practising and experiencing plenty of Hot Pilates ourselves. 💪

We had such a great weekend together and can't wait to bring everything we've learned back into the studio.

Turns out, we really do love the heat and the burn of hot pilates!. 😂🔥
