READY. SET. RISE!
Our Youth. Our Future. Let’s Rise Together!
Rhema Rising Youth Ministry invites youth, families, educators, and community members to a day of Faith, Family & Future as we come together to encourage our young people, strengthen our families, and prepare for an amazing school year!
We’re bringing together an incredible group of educators, social workers, advocates, community leaders, and parent advocates who will share their wisdom, experience, and real-life insight. Our conversations will explore student success, family and school partnerships, advocacy, inclusion, identity, mental and emotional well-being, confidence, and the power of community support.
And because young people deserve a seat at the table, our Youth Panel will bring their own voices, experiences, and perspectives to the conversation.
Plus, we’re making it a day to remember with breakfast, childcare, music, raffles and giveaways, prayer and declarations, Q&A, and an ice cream social!
📅 Sunday, September 13th
⏰ 11:00 AM–3:00 PM
📍 Rhema Revealed Ministries
313 10th St., Troy, NY 12180
(Inside the Oakwood Community Center, enter from the parking lot.)
Students. Parents. Educators. Community Members. ALL are welcome!
Come for the fun. Stay for the purpose.
FAITH. FAMILY. FUTURE.
💙💛 Let’s Rise Together!

Mother wounds deserve a conversation.

As a mental health professional and woman of faith, I’m particularly interested in the Honor Thy Mother Conference and its focus on grieving, healing, and making peace with complicated mother-daughter and mother-child relationships.

We often tell people to “honor your mother” without creating space for the reality that a person can love and honor their mother while also acknowledging that they were hurt.

Love and pain can coexist. Forgiveness and boundaries can coexist. Understanding someone’s story does not erase the impact of what happened to you.

There is also an important generational question:

What do we need to heal so that we don't pass our unresolved wounds to the next generation?

These are difficult conversations, but they are necessary conversations.

The Honor Thy Mother Conference takes place October 2–3, 2026, in Philadelphia.

Dr. Sarita T. Lyons presents a 2-day conference based on her new book, Honor Thy Mother: How to Grieve, Heal, and Make Peace with Your Mother Wounds. Join Dr. Lyons & her guests for a journey of healing and worship.

🌱 How Do You Know You're Going to a Higher Level?

Growth isn't always obvious.

Sometimes it doesn't look like success—it looks like discomfort.
It looks like setting boundaries.
It looks like letting go.
It looks like choosing peace over people-pleasing.
It looks like becoming someone you've never had to be before.

Many people think they're "stuck" when they're actually in transition.

You may be entering a higher level if:
✨ Your priorities are changing.
✨ Certain relationships no longer fit.
✨ You're becoming more disciplined.
✨ Your discernment is sharper.
✨ You're choosing purpose over pressure.
✨ You're learning to trust yourself and the process.

Real transformation isn't about having a bigger title, making more money, or receiving more recognition.

It's about developing the emotional resilience, wisdom, self-awareness, and inner strength to sustain the life you're building.

As a therapist, I've had the privilege of walking alongside individuals who discovered that what they thought was a breakdown was actually the beginning of breakthrough. Growth often requires us to release old patterns before we can embrace new possibilities.

If this season feels uncomfortable, ask yourself:

"Am I falling apart… or am I growing into the person I'm meant to become?"

Take a moment to read through the flyer and reflect on which signs resonate most with you.

💬 Which one speaks to where you are today? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

A lot of organizations say they want new energy, new ideas, and new people…

But then operate in ways that quietly shut those same people out.

When:

• Decisions are based on who’s been around the longest

• Access depends on relationships

• New people have to “prove themselves” first

Belonging becomes conditional.

And over time, that leads to low participation, burnout, and missed opportunities.

This isn’t about individuals not trying hard enough—it’s about systems that aren’t built for inclusion.

The shift is possible when there is:

✨ Clear communication

✨ Transparent processes

✨ Intentional onboarding and mentorship

✨ The creation of space for every voice

Real question:

Are we building spaces where people feel like insiders—or outsiders?

Let’s talk about it.
