It's amazing this week what has actually being happening this week at PMGH! No not the politics but history making surgery and not even mentioned in the media. The team from Sing Health with our Surgeons performed a first ever knee replacement at PMGH. Yes knee replacement! On the same note, our cardiothoracic team were doing Open Heart Surgery! Not much fun fare when OOH comes around but this silent and dedicated team were here this week.

The PNG team to PISA last year! The next conference is in Fiji next year. To all our colleagues, your presence is most welcome. A PNG surgeons team will be a force to reckon if we can get the numbers in Fiji.

Thankyou to all the fellow surgical colleagues, the Pom branch with the family of Mr Kaptigau are organizing an accnt specifically for tis purpose. For our Pom branch, we have organize several events to raise some much needed funds. To those in Pom pls drop by at the PMGH car park next week Friday for a lunch sausage sizzle. There is also a planned Dance after the MMED exams, date yet to be confirmed.
To our senior colleagues, latest news as of this am, our brother and colleague is still in Singapore as he developed pneumonia thus team there decided to hold him back. He was to come back yesterday to Pom.

To our surgical fellas out there, please support our POM fraternity in raising funds to help one of our senior mentor who needs overseas treatment. He has being with the Surgical Dept mentoring, teaching and saving lives for almost 2 decade now.
He needs everyone's prayers. May the good Lord bless you.

It's the start of the year again for schools, surgical programme no exception. To those starting the program, please keep in touch wel upload Program with assignments! Those in program should keep in touch also and probably start your rotations soon. For the final years, make sure thesis ready for proof reading by March.
