National Rare Disease Week

Rare Disease Day is celebrated annually every February 28 (or February 29 during leap year). Rare Disease is defined as disease affecting less than 1 in 2000 people. In the Philippines, we celebrate National Rare Disease Week every last week of February through Presidential Proclamation No. 1989.

In Rheumatology, we deal with different rare diseases such as Scleroderma, Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies, Primary Systemic Vasculitis, Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Juvenile Systemic Sclerosis, Still's Disease, Behcet Disease, and other rare rheumatic diseases. 2026
