Other headaches shouldn’t be ignored.

While many headaches are primary and manageable, some can be a sign of an underlying medical condition that needs prompt evaluation. Headaches associated with infection, very high blood pressure, head injury, or new neurologic symptoms deserve medical attention.

Seek urgent care if a headache is:
• sudden and severe (“thunderclap”)
• associated with fever, stiff neck, confusion, weakness, or vision changes
• new or worsening after a head injury
• persistent, worsening, or affecting daily life

Listening to your body matters. Early assessment helps guide proper treatment and prevents complications.

If you’re unsure, it’s always safer to have a headache evaluated.

Not all headaches are the same.

Headaches can feel similar, but they are not all caused by the same condition. Some are dull and pressure-like, while others are throbbing, more intense, and may come with nausea or sensitivity to light and sound.

When headaches are recurrent, worsening, or interfering with daily life, they should not be ignored. Identifying the type of headache is important so that the correct treatment and management plan can be given.

Seek medical attention if you experience:
• a sudden, severe headache
• headache with fever, stiff neck, confusion, or weakness
• a new or changing headache pattern
• headaches that affect work, school, or daily activities

Remember: headaches should not be normalized when they begin to affect your quality of life.
Proper evaluation can make a difference.

Sleep is brain medicine.

Sleep isn’t just rest—it’s active repair. While you sleep, the brain clears waste, stabilizes blood pressure, consolidates memory, and regulates pain pathways. When sleep is poor or irregular, headaches, dizziness, mood changes, and cognitive fog often follow.

It’s not only about hours slept, but how restorative your sleep is. Monitoring sleep patterns—such as sleep duration, consistency, and depth—can be helpful in understanding whether your brain is truly recovering each night.

If you’re waking up unrefreshed, relying on caffeine, or noticing worsening neurologic symptoms, it may be time to look more closely at sleep as part of your overall brain health.

Protect your brain—start with sleep. 🧠🌙

New year, protect your brain.

Brain health isn’t built through extreme resolutions—it’s shaped by small, consistent daily habits. Sleep, hydration, regular meals, stress management, movement, and good control of blood pressure and blood sugar all play a powerful role in protecting your brain.

January is a good time to pause, reset routines, and pay attention to symptoms we often ignore during busy months.

If headaches, dizziness, sleep problems, memory concerns, or other neurologic symptoms are affecting your daily life, a proper evaluation can help guide the next steps.

Your brain works for you every day—make caring for it part of your 2026 routine. 🧠✨

The holiday season quietly stacks common headache triggers: busy schedules, stress, skipped meals, dehydration, sweets, salty food, alcohol, and lack of sleep. Viral illnesses after travel or gatherings can also lead to lingering headaches.

The good news? Many holiday headaches are manageable with simple, consistent habits:
✔ prioritize sleep
✔ hydrate and eat regular meals
✔ manage stress realistically
✔ take only prescribed medications and avoid self-medicating

However, some headaches should never be ignored. Sudden, severe pain or headaches with neurologic symptoms need urgent medical attention.

Your holidays should be joyful—not painful.
If headaches are frequent, worsening, or concerning, a proper evaluation can help identify the cause and guide safe treatment.

Take care of your brain this season. 🧠✨

Do strokes increase in December?
Busy schedules, stress, less sleep, salty food, alcohol, skipped medications, and recent viral infections all raise stroke risk during this season.

Know the FAST warning signs:
Face drooping
Arm or leg weakness (one side of the body)
Speech difficulty
Time to call emergency services immediately

The good news: up to 80% of strokes are preventable.
Small daily choices—hydration, medication compliance, sleep, movement, and stress management—protect your brain more than we realize.

If stroke symptoms appear, don’t wait.
