To be an Atenean doctor is to be a doctor for others. At the core of Mister Medicine is the call to live out the honorable title of a ‘friend to mankind.’ It is a role I dedicate myself to with passion, emboldened by the conviction that true medicine is a mission of service beyond the self, a lifelong commitment to humanity.

Today, I stand here blessed, sharing this dream with my family and carrying the drive to be a model of excellence, a champion of the poor, a condemner of the corrupt, and a beacon of hope and change—values that shaped me into who I am today because i believe that being Mister Medicine is not about prestige, but purpose — a lifelong mission of service beyond the self.

❗️BUKOD SA LEPTOSPIROSIS, MGA BATANG NAGLALARO SA BAHA PWEDENG MAGKA-ASCARIASIS DALA NG MGA BULATE❗️

Babala ng DOH, hindi lang Leptospirosis ang maaaring makuha sa baha, kundi ang mga Soil-transmitted Helminths (STH) infections, tulad ng Ascariasis, Trichuriasis, at Ancylostomiasis. Madalas na tinatamaan ng mga STH ay ang mga batang hindi nagpapurga.

Ayon sa datos ng DOH noong 2024, 57% pa lang ng batang 1-4 years old ang nagpapurga sa kabila ng libreng Deworming tablets na binibigay sa mga health center.

Ilan sa mga sintomas ng STH infections ang:
✔️Pananakit ng tiyan
✔️Pagtatae
✔️Panghihina
✔️Rectal prolapse (Paglabas ng laman ng pwet)
✔️Mabagal na paglaki ng katawan at isipan ng bata

Paalala ng DOH sa mga magulang, huwag hayaang maglaro sa baha ang mga bata at gawin ang W.O.R.M.S para maiwasan ang impeksyon na dala ng mga bulate! 🪱

“Baklay with Ate Shai” is a slippers donation advocacy established in loving memory of Ate Shaira Sumael (Batch Amandi). In tribute to her compassionate spirit, slippers generously donated by Batch Amandi and school supplies contributed by Batch 2014 were distributed to the children of Barangay Lanao and Barangay Molocboloc. These items aim to protect young feet, uplift their dignity, and carry the warmth of Ate Shai’s kindness to those in need.
As part of this initiative, the advocacy group Byetoks conducted an educational lecture on helminthiasis for the beneficiaries—among the most vulnerable populations affected by parasitic infections. This lecture emphasized preventive measures, proper hygiene, and early intervention, reflecting Ate Shai’s unwavering commitment to holistic care and community health.
“Baklay with Ate Shai” exists to honor the life and legacy of Ate Shaira Sumael—her kindness, empathy, and steadfast support. Through this act of generosity, we continue to walk alongside those she cared for, ensuring that her legacy of compassion endures in every step taken.

“Byetoks! Atong likayan, goodbye bitok sa tiyan” has come a long way—what started as an idea has turned into a powerful advocacy on the importance of deworming. This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the support, creativity, and hard work of every person who believed in our cause.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Deped Camiguin, especially to our dedicated Deped nurses Ma’am Jean Amper Yangco and Ma’am Gwendolyn Conception and to the hardworking teachers of Bukidnon, Ma’am Agustina, Ma’am April and Ma’am Eden . Lastly to our Batch Amandi , thank you for choosing our advocacy to be Batch Amandi's Choice. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who contributed, shared, and stood with us.

We shared vital STH infection facts—how worms spread, simple prevention steps, and the power of regular deworming—through interactive chats and a lively Q&A session.

A heartfelt thank‑you to NMMC-HEPO, and every patient who joined in. Together, we’re proving that even a few minutes of conversation can spark healthier habits and brighter futures! 💚🙌
