Eyes on Diabetes 👀🍩

They say you go to the mall for shopping… we went there to save some sights! 👀

Had a great time delivering a lay forum on Diabetic Retinopathy at SM City Cauayan as part of August Sight Saving Month, together with my colleagues at Cauayan Eye Specialists.

We talked about how diabetes can quietly affect the eyes—and why early detection can make all the difference.

And because prevention is better than cure, the program also included a FREE EYE CLINIC for our community. ❤️

Less shopping for eye problems, more shopping with healthy eyes!

The best treatment for diabetic retinopathy is the one patients never need because the disease was detected early.

I had the opportunity to discuss Diabetic Retinopathy: Preventing Blindness Through Early Detection, focusing on the importance of community-based screening and the role of our Mulat Mata initiative in bringing eye care closer to patients.

Thank you to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center for the invitation. It was a privilege to share our experience and learn from colleagues who are equally committed to improving eye care for Filipinos.
