Sometimes we see a great recipe or blend containing an essential oil we donβt have. I hope this list serves as a great resource for you to use a substitute you do have!
A few things to keep in mind:
πΏThe substitutes in this list either contain similar beneficial properties or are similar in aroma (such as aroma category or aroma note).
πΏWhen substituting essential oils in skin care, it is important to be aware of your skin type and what essential oils are appropriate for use. (For example, if you have oily skin, you likely wonβt want to be using sandalwood or rose in your face serum)
πΏBe aware of photosensitive essential oils when substituting essential oils for topical use.
πΏWhen using aromatherapy for emotions and stress support it is always best to use an essential oil you find pleasant in aroma. We all have olfactory likes and dislikes and our preferences are incredibly subjective and individualized based on our memory scent associations, perceptions and expectations.
Hope this is helpful for you! π
