What does the vaccine do?
The rotavirus vaccine protects babies from severe diarrhea caused by rotavirus.

It does not completely prevent infection, but it greatly reduces severity and hospital admission.

👶 How is it given?
Given by mouth (oral drops), NOT injection
Baby will swallow the vaccine during the visit

📅 Schedule (Important!)
Depends on the brand:
Rotarix (2-dose):
1st dose: 6 weeks
2nd dose: 10 weeks

RotaTeq (3-dose):
1st dose: 6–12 weeks
Then every 4 weeks (usually 6, 10, 14 weeks)

⚠️ Important rules:
First dose should be given before 15 weeks of age
Last dose should be completed before 8 months old

Rotavirus spreads easily and can cause severe diarrhea and dehydration. And with cases rising across the country, it’s important that infants and children are up to date on their rotavirus vaccine series so their immune systems can build resistance to the virus.
