Villaflor Hospital is pleased to announce that it has successfully performed its first Laser Indirect Ophthalmoscopy procedure on a pre-term infant diagnosed with Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP).

This procedure, conducted by our Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Dr. Alvin Anthony P. Serrano, aims to prevent life-long visual disabilities and complications associated with ROP.

Conjunctivitis is an inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva, the thin membrane covering the white part of the eye and inner eyelid. Commonly known as "pink eye," it's usually caused by:
- Viral or bacterial infections
- Allergies
- Irritants (e.g., chemicals, dust)

Symptoms include:
- Redness
- Itching or burning
- Discharge (watery or pus-like)
- Crusting

Treatment depends on the cause:
- Viral: usually resolves on its own
- Bacterial: antibiotic eye drops
