Last May 18, 2026, the Department of Family and Community Medicine of De La Salle University Medical Center celebrated World Family Doctor Day through a public health lecture entitled “IWAS FAKE NEWS PARA IWAS SICK NEWS" presented by our first year residents.
In today’s digital age—where health information is only one click away and AI-generated content is rapidly growing—patients were empowered to become more critical and responsible consumers of medical information. The lecture highlighted the importance of verifying health claims, recognizing credible sources, and avoiding the spread of misinformation that may put health and safety at risk.
Because when it comes to health, not everything online is true.
Let us all remember:
✔️ Check the source
✔️ Think before you share
✔️ Choose what’s true
✔️ Protect your health
Together, let us promote responsible health information sharing and build a healthier, better-informed community.
