While many celebrated Valentineโs Day with flowers and chocolates, the RMC911 Unit chose to spend February 14 gaining knowledge and inspiration at the Davao City Central 911 Emergency Response Center located at Central 911 Building, Daang Patnubay, Talomo, Davao City.
The educational tour allowed us to learn more about the different operational units of Central 911, including the Emergency Medical Services or Ambulance Unit, Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), Fire Auxiliary Services, and the K-9 Unit. We explored their emergency vehicles, life-saving equipment, and operational systems that allow them to respond efficiently to calls across the city and even assist neighboring regions when needed.
One of the highlights of the visit was having the opportunity to try on their personal protective equipment and apparatus, giving us a firsthand appreciation of the discipline, preparation, and responsibility required in emergency response work.
Beyond the equipment and facilities, what truly inspired us were the stories shared by the responders. Real accounts of action, courage, and service reminded us why we chose this path and strengthened our commitment to readiness and community service.
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to our Founder, Sir Rolando Molde Jr., and our Moderator, Nurse Nicosa Barbara T. Ocon, for making this meaningful and eye-opening experience possible.
This Valentineโs Day, we are choosing service, learning, and growth!
