The RHU Magsaysay conducted a 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 (𝐈𝐏) 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧 (𝐒𝐊) 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 focused on strengthening nutrition programs and promoting healthier communities. The activity served as a venue to discuss nutrition concerns affecting IP communities, especially among children and youth, and to encourage collaboration in implementing culturally appropriate and community-based nutrition interventions.

Through the active participation of IP leaders and SK Chairpersons, the meeting highlighted the importance of youth involvement, nutrition awareness, and collective action in improving the health and well-being of families in the Municipality of Magsaysay.

Together, let us continue promoting proper nutrition and building healthier communities for all.

DAVAO CITY — The Department of Health – Davao Center for Health Development (DOH-DCHD), through the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) in the Davao Region, conducted a two-day Landscape and Nutrition Action Plan (LNAP) Updating Workshop on March 12–13, 2026 at Apo View Hotel, Davao City.

The activity gathered Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (MNAOs), Nutrition Coordinators, Municipal Health Officers (MHOs), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDOs), and Municipal Planning Officers from PMNP priority sites across the region. The workshop aimed to support local government units (LGUs) in reviewing and refining their Local Nutrition Action Plans based on updated nutrition data and emerging community needs.

During the workshop, participants reviewed the latest nutrition situation in their respective municipalities and analyzed key indicators related to malnutrition. Guided by regional facilitators, they identified priority nutrition concerns and discussed appropriate interventions to address these challenges.

The activity also served as a platform for strengthening coordination among LGU offices responsible for implementing nutrition-related programs. By bringing together representatives from the health, social welfare, and planning sectors, the workshop encouraged a more integrated approach to nutrition planning and implementation.

Through collaborative workshops and group discussions, participants refined their strategies and updated their Local Nutrition Action Plans to ensure that programs and interventions are evidence-based, responsive, and aligned with national and regional nutrition priorities.

The LNAP Updating Workshop is part of the continuing efforts of DOH-DCHD and the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project to enhance the capacity of local governments in addressing malnutrition and improving nutrition outcomes in communities across the Davao Region.

By strengthening local planning processes and promoting data-driven decision-making, the initiative aims to ensure that nutrition programs effectively reach vulnerable populations and contribute to the overall health and well-being of families in the region.
