It is important to note that HIV does not survive once exposed to air. The virus quickly becomes inactive outside the human body, making transmission through air, water, or environmental surfaces impossible.

Spreading false information about HIV transmission is not only irresponsible, it also violates the rights of people living with HIV and undermines public health education. Under Republic Act No. 11166, the Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act, acts that promote stigma and discrimination are punishable by law.

The Mujer-LGBT Organization will be consulting its legal team to determine possible actions to hold accountable those responsible for spreading misinformation and perpetuating stigma under the provisions of RA 11166.
