Advancing Local Microplanning for Effective Immunization Delivery 💙

The General Santos City Health Office together with the Rural Health Units (RHUs) and representatives from DepEd RXII SDO General Santos City successfully completed the 3-Day School-Based Immunization (SBI) Orientation and Microplanning Workshop for Sarangani Province and General Santos City held on August 17–19, 2026 at Greenleaf Hotel, General Santos City.

The workshop strengthened local preparedness, coordination, and implementation strategies for the upcoming SBI 2026. As part of the activity, the General Santos City Health Office and selected RHUs presented their developed microplans, highlighting their target learners, vaccine and logistics requirements, communication strategies, and area-specific implementation approaches.

Through collaborative planning with representatives from DepEd RXII SDO General Santos City, the CHO and RHUs continue to strengthen their readiness to deliver safe, timely, equitable, and quality immunization services to eligible learners.

With the continued technical guidance and support of DOH-CHD SOCCSKSARGEN, the General Santos City Health Office and RHUs are geared toward the successful implementation of SBI 2026 in partnership with Department of Education—working together to reach and protect every eligible learner through life-saving vaccines. 💉💙

The National Immunization Program (NIP) of the General Santos City Health Office continues its participation in the 3-Day School-Based Immunization (SBI) Orientation and Microplanning Workshop for Sarangani Province and General Santos City, being held on August 17–19, 2026 at Greenleaf Hotel, General Santos City.

The ongoing workshop provides a venue for the General Santos City Health Office and representatives from the Rural Health Units (RHUs) and Department of Education (DepEd RXII SDO General Santos City) to develop comprehensive, area-specific microplans for the upcoming SBI 2026. The sessions focus on identifying eligible learners, assessing local needs, determining vaccine and logistics requirements, and developing implementation strategies responsive to the situation of each community.

The General Santos City Health Office, through its National Immunization Program and under the leadership of City Health Officer Dr. Lalaine Calonzo, is represented by NIP Medical Coordinators Dr. Roland Jay F. Basmillo and Dr. Aimarie Tablazon, who actively participated in the workshop together with representatives from the city’s Rural Health Units (RHUs). Assistant City Health Officer Dr. Karl Ivan Daryl Igrobay, MPM, also graced the activity to extend the City Health Office’s support for the upcoming SBI implementation and underscore the importance of strong coordination, responsive microplanning, and effective program implementation.

With the continued technical guidance and support of the DOH-CHD SOCCSKSARGEN, the General Santos City NIP Team and RHUs continue to strengthen local preparedness and coordination toward the delivery of safe, timely, equitable, and quality immunization services to every eligible learner.

Huwag hintayin ang sakit bago kumilos. Alamin ang bakunang kailangan mo at magpabakuna sa tamang panahon.

EPI SKILLS TRAINING PRACTICUM

The National Immunization Program (NIP) of General Santos City welcomed the participants of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) Skills Training Practicum as they conducted their field exposure at West RHU, Bula RHU, and San Isidro RHU.

The practicum provided participants with hands-on learning opportunities on the implementation of routine immunization services, vaccine and cold chain management, and Reaching Every Purok (REP) at the primary health care level.

The General Santos City Health Office supports continuing capacity-building initiatives that strengthen the competencies of health workers and contribute to the delivery of safe, quality, accessible, and equitable immunization services for every child.

Strengthening health worker capacity. Protecting every child through immunization. 💉

Pwede nga ba sa may G6PD ang MR vaccine?

👉🏻 Simple answer: YES!

👉🏻 Kung dati na kayong nagpapabakuna sa center, wala naman pong kinaibahan itong bakuna na ito

HINDI BAGO ANG MR VACCINE.

Matagal na po itong bakuna at matagal na itong binibigay sa mga bata.

Mas madalas nga lang itong ibigay sa PRIVATE CLINICS dati at ngayon ay mas ginawang abot kamay ng gobyerno para sa karamihan ng kabataan.

So kung okay naman ang experience niyo sa bakuna galing center, mataas ang chance na ganun din sa MR vaccine.

📍 LOOK | National Immunization Program of General Santos City Participates in FP-MNCHN Midyear Program Assessment

The National Immunization Program (NIP) pf General Santos City Team participated in the Family Planning, Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, and Nutrition (FP-MNCHN) Midyear Program Assessment, marking the first day of the four-day activity held on August 11–14, 2026, at Greenleaf Hotel, General Santos City.

The activity was attended by the General Santos City Health Office delegation led by Assistant City Health Officer Dr. Karl Ivan Daryl Igrobay, MPM, together with Assistant City Health Officer Dr. Ecila Rio Africa, SMP Medical Coordinator, and NIP Medical Coordinators Dr. Roland Jay F. Basmillo and Dr. Aimarie Tablazon.

Organized in collaboration with the Department of Health – Center for Health Development SOCCSKSARGEN Region, the assessment serves as a venue to review program accomplishments, identify implementation gaps, and strengthen strategies for improved delivery of essential health services.

During the activity, Ms. Alyssa Mael G. Anuck, RN, NIP Nurse Coordinator, presented the National Immunization Program (NIP) Accomplishment Report, highlighting key achievements, program initiatives, challenges, and continuing efforts to enhance immunization coverage and ensure timely access to life-saving vaccines.

The General Santos City NIP Team, in partnership with the DOH-CHD SOCCSKSARGEN, remains committed to advancing immunization services and strengthening efforts toward a healthier and better-protected community.
