PHICS Advisory | Rising COVID-19 Cases

The Philippine Hospital Infection Control Society (PHICS), Inc., reminds all healthcare workers and healthcare facilities to remain vigilant as COVID-19 cases show a recent increase. While most reported infections are mild, consistent infection prevention practices remain our strongest defense in protecting our patients, our colleagues, and our communities.

We encourage everyone to continue practicing evidence-based preventive measures, including targeted masking when appropriate, proper hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, staying home when sick, ensuring adequate ventilation, keeping vaccinations up to date, and helping combat misinformation through responsible risk communication.

Healthcare facilities are likewise encouraged to review their infection prevention and control policies based on local risk assessments while maintaining safe and sustainable practices.

Together, let us continue to protect one another through informed, practical, and consistent infection prevention measures.
