National Heroes Day (Araw ng mga Bayani) in the Philippines is celebrated every year on the last Monday of August, a national holiday dedicated to remembering the valor, sacrifice, and unyielding spirit of those who fought for the nation's sovereignty. It is a special time when Filipinos look back at the courage of historical icons like Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio, as well as the unnamed fighters who stood up against foreign rulers. Through ceremonies, flowers laid at monuments, and programs, the nation comes together to thank these historical figures for giving us the free society we enjoy today.

At the same time, heroism is alive every day in the simple, quiet sacrifices happening all around us. It is found in the everyday people who wake up before dawn, endure tough conditions, and put others before themselves just to keep life moving smoothly for everyone else. Though they work without applause and will never have statues built in their honor, their quiet strength and dedication are what truly hold our country up every single day.

VSAS Orientation: Wrapped! 💙🕸️

On August 13, 2026, the Veterinary Student Achievers’ Society filled the De Venecia Hall with stories, laughter, and new beginnings as we welcomed freshmen and freelancers who are yet to find their organization where they truly belong. We hope that through our energetic dance entrance, presentation, heartfelt messages from our Mu Etan Doctors, and through the interactive games, we gave everyone a glimpse of what it truly means to be an Achiever.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our guests of honor, Mu Etan Dr. Leah G. Alejandro and Mu Etan Dr. Carlea S. Geron, for sharing valuable insights and inspiring words of wisdom with us. We thank you for emphasizing tye significance of choosing the right organization that will nurture and grow with you, for it is by choosing the right organization that you can truly feel at home.

We also want to extend our appreciation to the other Mu Etan Doctors who showed their support through their own ways: Mu Etan Dr. Randy Galutan, Mu Etan Dr. Marvin Pangilinan, Mu Etan Dr. Clara Carmina Santos, Mu Etan Dr. Herold Bal Hernando, and Mu Etan Dr. Joyce Marie Domingo.
