The Covid19 pandemic has continued to create psychosocial consequences on the daily lives of individuals but more so for the frontliners because of higher demands in the work setting and reduced capacity to use social support due to intense work schedules and stigma.

This is the focus of the 2-Day MHPSS and Team Building Activity conducted by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office of Ibajay in Boracay, Malay, Aklan. Discussion focused on each of the responder's basic Psychosocial Skills, like empathic listening and supportive communication, and practical support in their everyday interaction. Misinformation, disinformation and how to spot fake news on social media were also highlighted as everyone is also vulnerable to these false information circulating in the world wide web.

As responders to this crisis, MDRRMO Ibajay is reminded to take care of their well-being. Afterall, looking after themselves and their team members while working in the Covid-19 Response is not a luxury, it is a responsibility.

YOUR WELL-BEING MATTERS.

The Provincial Health Office Aklan is honored to be invited in Guadalupe National High School in the municipality of Libacao for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support and Psychological First Aid Activity last February 8, 2022.

Our beloved teachers and staff of Guadalupe NHS as well as Alfonso XII National High School were the participants of the said activity. The Mental Health Program Cluster with Ms. Psyche Mae Ruiz (Mental Health Coordinator), Mr. TA Dionela (Psychometrician) and Ms. Pedgilyn Rasco (Non-Communicable Diseases and Lifestyle Related Diseases Coordinator) were there to advocate more on the importance of Self-awareness, Self-Regulation and Thinking Traps in order for us to cope well and improve our resilience especially in this time of pandemic.

"Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn't mean you can, should, or need to do it alone." - Lisa Olivera
