The 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗭𝗢𝗡 (𝗛𝗥𝗗𝗖𝗖) proudly marked its participation in the 𝟭𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗣𝗡𝗛𝗥𝗦) 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸, held on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟭–𝟭𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼.

The activity was participated in by the HRDCC Management Committee and Officers, who joined fellow health research stakeholders from across the country in celebrating research excellence, strengthening collaboration, and advancing the Philippine health research agenda.

CALABARZON researchers were recognized for their research excellence in the national competitions, receiving 𝘁𝘄𝗼 (𝟮) 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 and 𝗼𝗻𝗲 (𝟭) 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱:

𝗛𝗥𝗗𝗖-𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗭𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

The Health Research and Development Consortium - CALABARZON (HRDCC) successfully held its 2026 First Semester Advisory Board Meeting on May 18, 2026, at Abagatan ti Manila, Alfonso, Cavite. The meeting brought together representatives from member institutions and partner agencies to discuss the consortium’s priorities, plans, and collaborative initiatives for advancing health research in the CALABARZON region.

This gathering also marked a significant milestone as it became the first HRDCC Advisory Board Meeting hosted by DOST CALABARZON as the consortium’s new implementing agency. The transition highlights DOST CALABARZON’s strengthened commitment to fostering innovation, research collaboration, and evidence-based health programs across the region.

One of the major highlights of the meeting was the 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 who will help steer the consortium’s future initiatives:

Do you have a thesis on natural products from indigenous plants or microorganisms with potential health applications? The DOST-PCHRD is now accepting applications for the 2026 Undergraduate Thesis Grant in Natural Products (1st Call).

Qualified undergraduate students may receive up to ₱75,000 in research funding to support thesis projects that explore the potential of Philippine natural resources in developing solutions for human health, under the Tuklas Lunas Drug Discovery and Development Program.

3rd or 4th year undergraduate students in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Nursing, and Health and Allied Sciences (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Medical Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics, and related fields) whose thesis focuses on natural products from terrestrial/marine plants and/or microorganisms indigenous to the Philippines with human health applications.
