As part of our continuing commitment to health education and disease prevention, Boracay Good News aired another informative episode of Talakayan sa Kalusugan, Serbisyo ng Malay para sa Mamamayan, hosted by Nars Jae'r Flores together with Nurse Madel Joy Tayco. This session focused on the National Tuberculosis Program's TB Preventive Therapy (TPT), an important strategy in the fight against tuberculosis (TB) that includes:

✔️ What tuberculosis (TB) infection is
✔️ Who are at risk of developing TB disease
✔️ The importance of TB Preventive Therapy
✔️ Available treatment options for eligible individuals
✔️ How TPT helps prevent TB infection from progressing into active TB disease

June 4, 2026- The Local Government Unit of Malay, under the leadership of Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista through the Malay (Yapak) Mega Health Center Primary Care Facility under the guidance of Dr. Athena C. Magdamit, MHO and Dr. Almira Louise O. Hinsoy ,DTTB, with the support of Balabag Punong Barangay Hon. Jason Talapian and Councils successfully held a PuroKalusugan Activity.

This initiative aims to improve access to quality health services and promote the overall well-being of our residents.

Getting your blood pressure measured the right way helps ensure accurate results.
Incorrect positions can lead to incorrect readings.

✔ Sit with your back supported
✔ Legs uncrossed and feet flat on the floor
✔ Arm supported with the cuff at heart level
✔ Use correct cuff size
✔ Rest for at least 5 minutes before the reading
✔ Do not talk during or between measurements
✔ Avoid exercise, tea/coffee, and smoking for at least 30 minutes before reading

Small steps can make a big difference in protecting your health.
