March 11, 2026, the 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗞𝗮𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗻 was successfully conducted at the Centro 1 Community Center, Mallig, Isabela The activity was spearheaded by the RHU Mallig under the leadership of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗥. 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗜𝗜𝗜, in collaboration with the 𝗜ntegrated Provincial Health Office-Isabela, with the strong support of Mun. Mayor Hon. Jose Philip "JP" Calderon. Their collective efforts truly showed that teamwork makes the dream work in advancing community health programs in the municipality.
The activity provided an opportunity to take stock of the program’s progress and recognize the milestones achieved through the implementation of the PuroKalusugan Program. It also served as the perfect occasion to set the stage for the launching of new PuroKalusugan sites, bringing essential health services closer to the grassroots and ensuring that no community is left behind.
During the program, personnel from the Integrated Provincial Health Office-Isabela, mam Mitzi Q. Caramat conducted an informative lecture on rabies awareness, emphasizing prevention and the importance of vaccination. The session reminded participants that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, especially in protecting communities from preventable diseases.
One of the highlights of the activity was the distribution of speakers to the different barangays, which will be utilized during Information Educational Campaign (IEC) activities and Zumba sessions for senior citizens. These speakers will serve as essential tools in promoting health education, encouraging physical activity, and strengthening community engagement, particularly among the elderly population.
The event was attended by SB Committee on Health, 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗻, together with barangay Captains, BHWs, and BNSs. Their presence highlighted that it takes a village to build healthier communities and sustain effective health initiatives.
Indeed, the successful conduct of the activity proves that when leaders and community health workers join hands and work hand in hand, meaningful change can happen. The launching of new PuroKalusugan sites, along with the distribution of speakers for community IEC and senior citizen Zumba sessions, marks another important step forward as the municipality continues to move the needle in improving accessible and quality health services for the people of Mallig.
