UPCM PGH FESS and Anterior Skull Base Course 2025 Day 1

Day 1 of our FESS and Anterior Skull Base course started with a series of lectures on nasal, paranasal sinus, and anterior skull base anatomy, as well as on surgical techniques in FESS, septoplasty, turbinoplasty, and skull base surgery.

In the afternoon, participants took their learning further with hands-on dissection with thiel cadavers, guided by our esteemed consultant facilitators.

The University of the Philippines- Philippine General Hospital Department of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery, Division of Rhinology, Paranasal Sinus, and Anterior Skullbase Surgery, along with the Department of Neurosciences, Division of Neurosurgery, and the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, Department of Anatomy, warmly invites you to join us in this year's FESS and Anterior Skullbase Course, happening on October 17-19, 2025.

This PBO-HNS required course will feature both online and face-to-face lectures from specialists in the fields of Rhinology, Anterior Skullbase Surgery, and Neurosurgery. Cadaver dissection will be conducted to facilitate hands-on learning.

We kicked off with a series of lectures on Day 1, with topics ranging from essential anatomy and common rhinologic conditions, to nasal endoscopy and imaging, later on diving into FESS and anterior skull base surgery, including preoperative preparations, surgical methods, and management of complications.

On Days 2 and 3, participants had the opportunity to apply their knowledge through theil cadaver dissections, with expert guidance from our consultants. It was an invaluable experience to hone surgical skills in a real-world setting.
