An ACL injury is a tear or sprain of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) — one of the strong bands of tissue that help connect your thigh bone (femur) to your shinbone (tibia). ACL injuries most commonly occur during sports that involve sudden stops or changes in direction, jumping and landing — such as soccer, basketball, football and downhill skiing.
Many people hear a pop or feel a "popping" sensation in the knee when an ACL injury occurs. Your knee may swell, feel unstable and become too painful to bear weight.

Signs and symptoms of an ACL injury usually include:
* A loud pop or a "popping" sensation in the knee
* Severe pain and inability to continue activity
* Rapid swelling
* Loss of range of motion
* A feeling of instability or "giving way" with weight bearing

At METROPHYSIO PT CLINIC, rehabilitation goes beyond pain relief. Our evidence-based treatment program is designed to help you recover safely and confidently.

Frozen shoulder, also known as Adhesive Capsulitis, is a condition where the shoulder joint becomes painful and stiff due to inflammation and thickening of the joint capsule. It gradually limits movement, making everyday activities difficult.

Common Symptoms :
* Persistent shoulder pain, especially at night
* Gradually worsening stiffness
* Difficulty reaching overhead
* Trouble reaching behind the back (e.g., fastening a bra or tucking in a shirt)
* Difficulty dressing, combing hair, or lifting objects
* Limited active and passive shoulder movement

Frozen shoulder may occur :
1. After a shoulder injury or surgery
2. Following prolonged shoulder immobilization
3. Without an obvious cause (idiopathic)

People at higher risk include:
1. Adults aged 40–60 years
Women
2. Individuals with Diabetes Mellitus
3. Those with Thyroid Disease
4. People recovering from stroke or prolonged illness

Symptoms:
Frozen shoulder typically develops slowly in three stages.

1. Freezing stage. Any movement of the shoulder causes pain, and your ability to move the shoulder becomes limited. This stage typically lasts 2 to 9 months.

2. Frozen stage. Pain may lessen during this stage. However, the shoulder becomes stiffer. Using it becomes harder. This stage lasts 4 to 12 months.

3. Thawing stage. Your ability to move the shoulder begins to improve. This stage typically lasts 5 to 24 months.

***For some people, the pain worsens at night, sometimes disrupting sleep.

Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, caused by the gradual breakdown of the protective cartilage that cushions the ends of bones. As the cartilage wears away, bones begin to rub against each other, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced joint movement.

Commonly Affected Joints:
1. Knees
2. Hips
3. Hands and fingers
4. Spine (neck and lower back)
5. Feet

Signs and Symptoms:
* Joint pain during or after activity
* Morning stiffness lasting less than 30 minutes
* Reduced range of motion
* Swelling around the joint
* Grinding or clicking sensation (crepitus)
* Difficulty walking, climbing stairs, or standing for long periods

Plantar Fasciitis: Heel Pain That Shouldn't Hold You Back

Experiencing sharp heel pain when taking your first steps in the morning? It could be Plantar Fasciitis—one of the most common causes of heel pain, caused by irritation or inflammation of the plantar fascia, the thick band of tissue that supports the arch of your foot.

Common symptoms include:
👣 Heel pain, especially upon waking up
👣 Pain after prolonged standing or walking
👣 Tightness in the foot or calf
👣 Discomfort that affects daily activities and exercise

At MetroPhysio, we go beyond treating the pain—we identify the root cause. Through personalized physical therapy, stretching programs, manual therapy, strengthening exercises, and movement correction, we help relieve pain, restore mobility, and prevent recurrence.
Don't let every step be a painful one.
Take the first step toward recovery with MetroPhysio.
