.ph reached out asking if they could repurpose one of my unpublished designs for Pilipinas Ultimate’s merch. One that they’d use to help support their team in the Asia Ocenia Ultimate Championships (September 2025, in Japan). I pulled elements from my archive, to make something new — something more intentional.

With just a few days to work with, I turned to capiz as the main inspiration. It’s a shell often seen in Filipino homes — used in windows, lanterns, and accessories. What I love about it is the contrast: delicate and pearlescent on the surface, but sturdy and weather-resistant at its core. That balance of softness and strength felt like the perfect metaphor to build the design around.

The color palette reflects that too — capiz (off-white), lilim (midnight blue), and piloncitos (gold). A more refined take on Filipino colors, quiet but proud. On the chest, a Philippine eagle pierces through a red sun — a subtle nod to Japan, and to the drive it takes to represent the country on that kind of stage.

Proceeds go to helping the team compete in AOUGC. If you’re looking to support in your own way, this is one small but meaningful way to do it 🇵🇭

Sharing the Pilipinas jerseys I designed for Chronos Athletics just in time for Chronos Ultifest this weekend 🇵🇭

Not gonna lie, I didn’t have time to make proper pubmats for this drop (life’s been full), so here’s a straight-up share of the mockups I made. Been doing sports design on the side of my day job, and sometimes this is just how it looks — raw, quick, but still full of thought.

This one challenged me in the best way. I was really drawn to the contrast between two very different sources: old Filipino military uniforms from the 1800s (raw, utilitarian, worn in battle) and the barong tagalog (delicate, formal, embroidered with care). One is grit, the other grace. Combining the two felt like a way to show that strength doesn’t have to be loud. It can be quiet, grounded, and intentional.

Super grateful to Chronos Athletics for always giving me room to design with intention.

The jerseys drop at Chronos Ultifest this weekend. Come through, say hi, or grab one if it speaks to you.

👇 Design rationale below 👇

This jersey is built on contrast — grit and grace, function and formality, history and movement. At its core are two unlikely sources: the rugged colors of Filipino military uniforms from the 1800s and the refined elegance of the barong Tagalog. One made for battle, the other for ceremony. Together, they form a look that’s both tough and dignified, grounded and elevated.

The color palette reflects that military influence. Deep red, a muted blue, and cream feel worn-in and grounded, a reference to garments made for the field, not the spotlight. Over that base, I added embroidery-style patterns that echo the structure and symmetry of barong detailing.

The typography on the front also carries a story. The lines within the PILIPINAS wordmark are inspired by jeepney signage — hand-painted, bold, and unapologetically local. That detail ties the piece to everyday Filipino culture and gives it an edge that feels familiar and lived-in.

This jersey is about balance. It holds together the old and the new, the polished and the raw. It’s a small attempt at reimagining Filipino identity through sport — not by simplifying it, but by showing how all those layers can belong in one piece.

A few months ago, I had the incredible opportunity to design the logo for the Libertea Cup. Drawing inspiration from the iconic branding of Libertea Iced Tea, the design blends Army Navy’s signature colors—navy blue, army green, bright orange—with clean lines and bold typography to reflect the dynamic energy of the tournament.

Seeing my design come to life across the tournament was incredibly rewarding, and I’m grateful to have been part of this project. Huge thanks to for trusting me with this opportunity!

The running track at the Paris 2024 Olympics is purple for a few reasons:

🟣Visual Uniqueness:
The organizers wanted to make the games visually unique and memorable. The purple track stands out and provides a striking backdrop for the athletes.

🟣Television Experience:
The color purple was chosen to enhance the television viewing experience. It provides better contrast, making it easier to highlight the athletes during broadcasts.

🟣Sustainability:
The track incorporates recycled materials, including mussel and clam shells, aligning with the goal of making the Paris Olympics the most sustainable yet.

It’s the first time an Olympic track has been purple, adding a special touch to the games!
