A stable blood supply is one of the cornerstones of an effective healthcare system, yet many hospitals continue to face the challenge of meeting the growing demand for life-saving blood transfusions. Every donation has the power to save lives, making voluntary blood donors indispensable partners in healthcare. In line with the Department of Health’s observance of National Blood Donors Month, a community blood donation campaign entitled “Dugo Mo, Buhay Ko: Isang Patak, Isang Pag-asa” was organized to promote a culture of voluntary blood donation and strengthen community participation in this life-saving advocacy.

Conducted on July 28, 2026, at the Covered Court of the Barangay Sub Office in Purok Wali, Barangay Bagua II, Cotabato City, spearheaded by Dr. Datu Al-Muhaymin E. Maadil. The campaign drew 129 participants, with 100 individuals successfully qualifying as voluntary blood donors. Each donation represented more than a unit of blood—it symbolized compassion, generosity, and hope for patients whose lives depend on the kindness of strangers.

The campaign left behind more than collected blood units—it strengthened partnerships, inspired volunteerism, and reminded everyone that the simplest acts of kindness can have the greatest impact. Heroes do not need capes; they simply need a heart willing to give. With every arm extended and every bag of blood donated, another life is given hope, another family is comforted, and another community grows stronger.

Who would have thought that one day, I would be invited to cut the ceremonial ribbon for the blessing of a new building?

Some opportunities only come once in a lifetime, and today was one of those moments.

I’m truly grateful to have been part of the blessing and inauguration of the new College of Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science building. It was an unexpected honor and a privilege to take part in such a meaningful milestone.

This building is more than just bricks and concrete. It represents new beginnings, endless opportunities, and the dreams of future healthcare professionals who will one day learn, grow, and serve within its walls.

May it always be a place where knowledge is shared, character is shaped, and excellence is pursued.

One day, this will simply be another memory. Years from now, as I pass by this building or see it standing strong, I’ll smile knowing that I was there on the day it was blessed—that, for a brief moment, I was entrusted to cut the ribbon that marked the beginning of its story. And that’s a memory I’ll always be grateful to carry.

Congrats NDHSCI, Department of Medical Technology and to the Dean doctor Ian Jay Dalumpines Garampiel. Kudos!

Nutrition Month 2026 | “Pinggang Makulay, Buhay na Matibay!” 🍎🥦

Today,I had the privilege of celebrating Nutrition Month with the wonderful learners, teachers, and school community of Datu Usman Elementary School.

Through health education and meaningful discussions, we emphasized that good nutrition is more than just eating—it’s about making healthy choices every day to build stronger bodies, sharper minds, and brighter futures. A colorful plate filled with nutritious foods is the foundation of a healthy and productive life.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the school administration, headed by Principal Maryam U. Lauban, PhD, for the warm welcome and for partnering with us in promoting health and wellness among our young learners.

Also, Special thanks to NHORUL-AM A. ABDULLAH, Project Manager of the Strengthening Access to Living Assistance to Marginalized Bangsamoro (SALAM) program, for the generous financial support that helped make our Nutrition Month celebration a success. Your generosity and unwavering support are sincerely appreciated.

Together, let us continue to inspire healthy habits because every healthy meal today creates a healthier tomorrow.

🥗 Pinggang Makulay, Buhay na Matibay!
💚 Nourishing children. Empowering communities. Building a healthier future.

Last May 3, 2026, the Medical Technology Department of Notre Dame Siena College, in partnership with the Nursing Department and NSTP, successfully conducted a meaningful and informative seminar focusing on Diabetes, Hypertension, Community Health Nutrition, and the Role of Family Physicians in the Digital Era. 🩺💻🍎

The activity aimed to empower students and community participants with essential knowledge on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle practices, digital health awareness, and the importance of holistic and patient-centered care in today’s rapidly evolving healthcare system.

I was honored to serve as the guest speaker for this meaningful activity, where I shared valuable insights and discussions on healthcare, digital resilience, and the vital role of family physicians in promoting accessible, patient-centered, and quality care within the community.

Aside from the seminar proper, the activity also provided free medical and health-related services including:
🩸 Blood Typing
⚖️ BMI Evaluation
🩺 Vital Signs Monitoring
💊 Distribution of Selected Maintenance Medications

This initiative served not only as a learning opportunity but also as an avenue for community engagement, health promotion, and interdepartmental collaboration. Through teamwork, compassion, and service, the program highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare and community-based interventions in improving public health outcomes.

Indeed, this activity reflected the commitment of future healthcare professionals to extend knowledge, care, and service beyond the classroom and into the community. 💚

He was 58.

Busy. Working. Living life.

No major symptoms.

Just routine days.

Until one morning,
he felt a pressure in his chest.

Not sharp.

Just heavy.

Like something was sitting on him.

He tried to ignore it.

But it didn’t go away.

What you’re seeing on the right
is what was happening inside his arteries.

Plaque buildup.

Slowly narrowing the vessel over time.

This doesn’t happen overnight.

It builds silently.

For years.

⚠️ SIGNS PEOPLE MISS

* Mild fatigue
* Reduced exercise tolerance
* Subtle chest discomfort

🚨 WHEN IT PROGRESSES

* Chest pressure
* Shortness of breath
* Pain radiating to arm or jaw

🧠 WHAT’S HAPPENING

Cholesterol + inflammation
→ plaque formation
→ narrowing
→ reduced blood flow

If plaque ruptures → clot forms → heart attack

🔥 TAKEAWAY

Heart disease doesn’t start suddenly.

It builds quietly
until it doesn’t stay quiet anymore.
