Did you know that rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms appear โ€” but it is 100% preventable if treated early?

Even a small bite or scratch from a dog, cat, or other animal can transmit the virus. Thatโ€™s why immediate action is very important.

If an animal bite happens:

๐Ÿงผ Wash the wound immediately with soap and running water for 15 minutes
๐Ÿ’‰ Get anti-rabies vaccination as soon as possible

Ang Anti-Rabies Vaccine ay gumagana sa dalawang paraan:
1. Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP): Bakunang ibinibigay BAGO pa man makagat.
2. Mainam ito para sa mga high-risk gaya ng mga beterinaryo, animal handlers, o mga batang madalas makipaglaro sa hayop.

Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP): Bakunang ibinibigay MATAPOS makagat o makalmot. Pinipigilan nito ang virus na makarating sa central nervous system.

Ang Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) ay hindi nangangahulugang "immune" ka na habambuhay. Kung ikaw ay nakagat na at may PrEP record:

Kailangan mo pa rin ng booster shots (karaniwang 2 turok na lang).
Ngunit, hindi mo na kakailanganin ang Rabies Immunoglobulin (RIG) o 'yung turok na direkta sa sugat, na siyang pinakamahal at madalas maubusan sa mga center.
