The TMC Department of Surgery – Section of Head and Neck Surgery proudly participated in the SURGICAL ONCOLOGY SOCIETY OF THE PHILIPPINES (SOSP) 10th Annual Convention, themed “Mastery in Surgical Oncology: Innovations & Evidence for Optimal Outcomes,” held on July 10–11, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt Manila, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

This prestigious gathering brought together distinguished local and international experts, innovators, and healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing surgical oncology through innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.

Representing the Section of Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Rainier Y. Lutanco served as an invited speaker, sharing his expertise on Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy Vestibular Approach (TOETVA) and Neck Dissection. His presentations highlighted cutting-edge techniques and reinforced the growing role of minimally invasive and precision surgery in the management of head and neck diseases.

📢 Section of Head and Neck Surgery at the 7th International Thyroid NOTES Conference

The TMC Department of Surgery – Section of Head and Neck Surgery proudly participated in the 7th International Thyroid NOTES Conference, held on May 21–22, 2026, at the Police General Hospital and Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.

The conference brought together internationally recognized surgeons, innovators, and healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing patient care and surgical excellence, particularly in the fields of transoral endoscopic and robotic thyroid surgery.

As an invited speaker and facilitator, Dr. Rainier Y. Lutanco shared his expertise on thyroid ablation through the presentation:

🔹 “Thyroid Ablation: Where Are We Now and What Is Next?”

In his presentation, Dr. Rainier Y. Lutanco explored the evolving role of thyroid ablation, a minimally invasive treatment that offers effective management of selected thyroid conditions while reducing the need for surgery, minimizing recovery time, and improving patient outcomes. The TMC Department of Surgery – Section of Head and Neck Surgery proudly took part in the 52nd PCS Midyear Convention 2026, held on May 6–8, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Clark, Pampanga. Guided by the theme, “Precision Care in Surgery by Cultivating Leadership and Competence,” the event brought together surgical leaders and practitioners dedicated to advancing patient care and surgical excellence.

As invited speakers, our faculty members shared valuable insights and expertise on key aspects of thyroid and parathyroid surgery:

✨ A Meaningful Milestone in Regional Collaboration and Innovation ✨

The Medical City Department of Surgery Section of Head and Neck Surgery was privileged to take part in the 6th Congress of the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery held in Academia from April 9–11, 2026. Centered on the theme *“Strengthening Global Collaborations for Equitable Care,”* the congress gathered leading experts and institutions across the region dedicated to advancing thyroid and head & neck care.

We are especially proud to celebrate the participation of Dr. Anna Torio-Rivera and Dr. Khrissa Lea Elisa Violago, whose research works were chosen for poster presentation:
