Evaluation and Validation for Level 2 of BHS Cannery Site 2 Adolescent Friendly Health Facility.

An adolescent-friendly health facility (AFHF) is a specialized or designated health center that provides confidential, non-judgmental, and age-appropriate medical care and counseling for young people ages 10-19.

To the Barangay Council headed by Hon. Punong Barangay Rogen Ermitaño, Brgy. Kagawad Junefer Pimentel, our Brgy. Secretary Mam Cecilia Pagaran, our Brgy. Health Focal Person, Mam Loreto Grana & SK Chairman Mark Saruda, thank you so much for your steadfast leadership and continuous support for our health programs.

In celebration of the World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7), a small talk were given respectively by our nurse Hassel Ainee Castillon Ciño-Niembra, RN and our guest speaker Lilibeth Anne L. Malazarte,RND , registered nutritionist dietitian from Department of Health. Ms. Malazarte highlighted the importance of breastfeeding and complementary feeding to children 0 up to 2 years of age. In addition, Multiple Micronutrient Supplement for Pregnant & breastfeeding women were distributed to target women.

📍 The Department of Health (DOH) in the Philippines observes World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Awareness Month every August to promote, protect, and support optimal infant and young child feeding. The core rationale is to reduce child mortality, combat malnutrition during the critical first 1,000 days of life, and secure lifelong health for both children and mothers.

📍Purokalusugan activity for Purok People’s Village, Purok Dimaclid & Purok Abrea held at Purok People’s Village plaza.

PuroKalusugan is a community-centered primary healthcare initiative launched by the Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) designed to bring essential health services directly to the grassroots level—the purok (district or zone)—to ensure equitable access for underserved populations.

The core rationale is to bridge the gap between rural health centers and community members, particularly in remote areas, by taking a proactive, "doorstep" approach to primary healthcare. It aims to shift from a centralized model to a decentralized, "purok-level" delivery system, aligned with the Universal Health Care Act.

The Barangay Cannery Site, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Guiguinto Premier Foundation Inc., will be conducting a 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗫-𝗥𝗔𝗬 on 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆), from 𝟴:𝟬𝟬 𝗔𝗠 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟮:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠 at the 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿.

This service is open to all residents aged 15 years old and above only.

This activity aims to strengthen active case finding in high-risk communities. Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health challenge in the Philippines, and national policies highlight the importance of community-based case finding through chest X-ray to detect otherwise missed or asymptomatic TB cases.

We encourage all residents ages 15 and above to take part in this important health initiative. Early detection saves lives—let us work together for a healthier Cannery Site!
