𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧

Our hearts are broken by the tragic shooting at Ateneo de Zamboanga. Two young lives were lost, families were devastated and an entire school community was left grieving and shaken.

As we mourn, let this tragedy remind us that 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀. 𝗜𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 - with parents who listen, observe, guide and take action when something does not feel right.

✅ 𝗧𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀:

𝟭. 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞 - 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻.
Ask your children how they are doing, who they spend time with, what troubles them and what they see online. Sometimes, a child’s silence is already a cry for help.

𝟮. 𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛 - 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿.
Sudden changes in mood, friendships, online activities or expressions of anger and violence should never be dismissed as “just a phase.”

𝟯. 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗘 - 𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺.
If there are fi****ms or other dangerous items at home, keep them properly secured and completely inaccessible to children.

We cannot undo what happened in Zamboanga. But we can choose to learn from it, act earlier and work together to make every school - and every home - a safer place for every child.

The Northern Police District (NPD) formally concluded the 31st Police Community Relations (PCR) Month Celebration through its Culminating and Awarding Ceremonies at the NPD Headquarters, recognizing outstanding police personnel, units, and community stakeholders for their valuable contributions to public safety and community partnership.

The event was graced by Dr. Arlene Escalante-Eluwa, Deputy Executive Director of Bagong Pilipinas Citizens and Founder and Chairperson of Safe Schools Philippines, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. The ceremony was led by PBGEN BENLINER L CAPILI, Acting District Director of the Northern Police District, together with the NPD Command Group: PCOL RELLY B ARNEDO, DDDA; PCOL DARNELL T DULNUAN, CDDS; PCOL FLORIAN D REYNADO, C, DCADD; PCOL JOSEPH G TALENTO, COP, VCPS; and PLTCOL JACK E ANGOG, OIC, DMFB.

Awards and citations were presented to deserving police personnel, units, partner agencies, and community stakeholders in recognition of their dedication and support to the District's Police Community Relations programs.

The activity also marked the successful conclusion of the month-long celebration, reaffirming the NPD's commitment to strengthening police-community partnerships and sustaining peace, order, and public safety throughout the CAMANAVA area.
