🐣 CHICKMIS OR FACTS? 🥚

FACT: Hindi nakakahawa ang Avian Influenza sa pagkain ng maayos na nalutong itlog. Kapag ang itlog ay naluto nang tama, namamatay ang virus sa init, kaya ligtas itong kainin. Iwasan lamang ang pagkain ng hilaw o malasadong itlog at siguraduhing malinis at hindi basag ang mga ito bago lutuin.

Ang tamang kaalaman ay mahalaga upang mapanatili ang kaligtasan ng ating pamilya at maiwasan ang pagkalat ng maling impormasyon. Sa pamamagitan ng pagsunod sa wastong food safety practices, napoprotektahan natin ang ating kalusugan habang patuloy na sinusuportahan ang ating mga lokal na poultry raisers.

As part of its continuing efforts to enhance Avian Influenza (AI) awareness and preparedness nationwide, the Avian Influenza Protection Program (AIPP) successfully conducted its fourth "Catch the Facts, Not the Flu" Information Caravan for 2026 on July 16, 2026, at Hotel Sophia Resort, Cauayan City, Isabela. The activity aimed to promote disease awareness, encourage effective biosecurity practices, and foster collaboration among stakeholders in the livestock and poultry sector.

The event gathered farmers’ cooperatives, backyard and commercial poultry farm operators, government officials, and representatives from LGUs, City and Provincial Veterinary Offices, and DA Regional Field Offices. Participants engaged in discussions on Avian Influenza, national and regional disease updates, vaccination, biosecurity measures, regulatory requirements for local avian shipment, and the BAI Livestock Distribution Programs.

Through the continued conduct of the Information Caravan, the AIPP remains committed to equipping stakeholders with knowledge and strategies for AI prevention and control, protecting animal health, supporting poultry livelihoods, and contributing to food security.

Knowing the signs of Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) can prevent a widespread outbreak.

Watch out for sudden drops in egg production or food intake, extreme lethargy, coughing, purple discoloration on heads and combs, neurological signs like twisted necks, or unexplained sudden deaths.

If your birds show symptoms: Stop all movement and sales, isolate your flock immediately, and report the illness to your local veterinarian or agriculture authorities right away.

Wild birds may carry avian influenza and spread it to other birds without showing signs of illness. Protect your poultry by preventing contact with wild birds. Stay watchful for unusual wild bird deaths or sick birds in your area, and report them to your local authorities immediately. Early reporting supports faster response efforts and helps protect poultry, wild birds, and our communities from the spread of avian influenza.
