5 Ways to Encourage Spiritual Growth in Your Child
If you’re a parent with a faith of your own, chances are it’s important to you to instill solid, character-building, faith-growing practices in the daily habits of your children. Children enter this world with a tremendous capacity for faith. And the best way to teach them faith skills is to practice them in your own lives and help to be their guide.

By teaching them to practice these activities, you can help them grow closer to the Lord every day!

Pray together.
Allow children to hear you talk about God and pray daily. Pray for requests together as a family and discuss how God has answered previous prayers. Attend church together and celebrate God.

Show your gratitude.
One way you can help children grow spiritually is by opening their eyes to everything God has provided for them. A heart of gratitude sees issues in your life more like opportunities. Opportunities to boast in what God has done for us and what He has blessed us with.

Serve together.
One of the best and most fun ways to get children to understand God is by letting them serve. Even at young ages children can make gifts, visit others, and make cards as thoughtful gestures of love and care. As children grow, they can serve and help more in the community by working with local food banks and shelters. As a family, you can teach them how to have compassion for others and serve those in need.

Learn together.
As you attempt to answer your child’s tougher questions, you may find that your own faith gets challenged. But in the end, you will hopefully gain a clearer understanding of exactly what you believe and why. And remember, when there seems to be no answer, don’t be afraid to say, “I don’t know.”

Be an example.
The most important thing you can do for your child is to be a living example of who you want them to become. Show them kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and allow them to see your struggles too, apologizing when you are wrong. Tell your child what you believe about God. It is important to remember that our children really do believe and take to heart what we tell them.

SEVEN WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR SPIRITUAL HEALTH
1. Explore your spiritual core. By exploring your spiritual core, you are simply asking yourself questions about the person you are and your meaning. Ask yourself: Who am I? What is my purpose? What do I value most? These questions will lead you down a road where you will think more in-depth about yourself and allow you to notice things about yourself that will help you achieve fulfillment.

2. Look for deeper meanings. Looking for deeper meanings in your life and analyzing occurring patterns will help you see that you have control over your destiny. Being aware of this can help you achieve a happy and healthy life.

3. Get it out. Expressing what is on your mind will help you to maintain a focused mind. After a long day or a significant event, you may feel confused and not be able to make sense of your feelings. By writing down your thoughts, you may be able to think clearer and move forward.

4. Try yoga. Yoga is a physical technique that can help improve your spiritual wellness by reducing emotional and physical strains on your mind and body. Yoga is taught at all different levels and can help lower stress, boost the immune system, and lower blood pressure as well as reduce anxiety, depression, fatigue, and insomnia.

5. Travel. It’s true! Taking time for yourself to travel to a comforting place or somewhere new can do wonders for your mind. When you are at a place where your mind can keep out distractions and help you reflect and rest, you will have a better connection with yourself. This allows you to w**d out stressors and set your mind on the right path for overall wellness. Some activities to take part in when on a trip can be exercising, speaking with a counselor or advisor, meditation, or taking a temporary vow of silence.

6. Think positively. Once you start viewing things in your life in a positive manner, you will find yourself thinking differently and refocusing your mind to a happy, healthy place. When you eliminate negativity and re-frame how you think of certain things and situations, you’ll notice yourself being more relaxed.

7. Take time to meditate. While managing your time and daily tasks can be hard, it is crucial to devote time to connecting with yourself. Whether in the morning when you wake up, during your lunch break, or before you go to sleep, take five to 10 minutes to meditate each day. Fitting mediation and relaxation into your lifestyle will free your mind and foster a stronger relationship with your spiritual wellness.

8 Ways to Increase Your Intellectual Capacity
1. Expand your horizons.
Expanding your horizons unlocks the world to you by introducing you to possibility. Novel experiences invite the unfamiliar into your life. The unfamiliar gifts you with diverse experiences which vastly increase your knowledge. The brain responds to new things by creating new neural pathways. Each new pathway become stronger with repetition giving us new skills and strengths. For this reason, you should always strive to be just a bit outside your comfort zone. This can be accomplished very easily. You can choose to visit new places, take a different route to the office, or even brush your teeth with your non-dominant hand. The brain isformed around habits. The more rigid and habituated you are the harder it is to cope with change. Whatever is routine in your life actually keeps you from growing in the ways you could if you did just a few things a bit differently on a daily basis. Mix things up to train yourself to thrive in new ways, with new people, and in new environments.
2. Be imaginative.
All success begins as imagined outcomes, opportunities and possibilities. The more imaginative you allow yourself to be, the more open you are to creating innovative and effective problem-solving techniques, brainstorming skills and networking skills. The more visionary, the more well-known you become for ability to draw inspiration from all areas of life whenever the need presents itself. This type of creativity gives you a confidence that helps you tremendously whether you're in your daily life or when this skill becomes useful in your business life. People will know that you are the person to go to when new and inventive ideas are necessary to get things moving in a new and better direction. Creativity is the key trait you need to be an intelligent innovator. There is no such thing as "not creative." You all have it, and not only does a little creativity increase the passion you have for what you do, but it can also make the most tedious work a bit more entertaining.

3. Pleasure reading.
Success is not only important to strive for, but is the main priority for Entrepreneurs, so much so, that many of you forget to have fun, to relax and decompress. Personal growth doesn't always mean you have your nose in some sort of a textbook. Reading in general, regardless of the content, is fabulous for your brain. Whether it's a murder mystery, fiction, your favorite poetry or a sports magazine, reading stimulates your imaginative process. Without your conscious effort your brain is translating the words into images that play like a movie in your mind. Reading gives you a break, puts you into another world and creates an emotional connection between yourself and the words on the paper. You all need some time to escape. If you can't vacation, reading a book is a great substitute. Further, reading increases your vocabulary, provides your brain with examples of correct grammar and helps you become not only a better reader and writer, but more importantly a more other-centered communicator.
4. Train your brain.
There are numerous easy-to-get-ahold-of techniques to keep your mind sharp. There are many word puzzle apps and other apps like Luminosity that are free on your smartphone that provide games and problem-solving techniques designed to increase the neuroplasticity of your brain. Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to form new neural connections enabling you to function at a higher level. The more neuroplasticity your brain has the faster it makes new connections and the quicker and more effectively you process information. Achieving great success comes down to decision-making, and yet so few train their brain for this on a daily basis.

5. Consistently learn.
There is always something to still learn. Never be above education. Be passionate for acquiring and developing new skills and information. To become a successful Entrepreneur, you must always be searching for what is new and what is not yet fully understood on the cutting edges of your industry. When you continue your education, it is humbling to grasp how much there still is to know. The more you learn the more prepared you become for excellent strategizing. The more knowledge you acquire the more information you have available to you when making critical decisions. Learning is what grows your confidence. It is what increases your skill base and adds to your talent. It is also what allows you to work smarter not just harder. Always assume there is more you need to learn and you will experience a direct and obvious increase in your ability to achieve.
6. Physical activity.
Physical activity not only gets you in better shape, but it gives you a higher functioning brain. The brain responds best when it is full of oxygen. When you give your brain the oxygen-boost it needs from exercise, it improves your memory, boosts your ability to focus, and prevents cognitive decline. Without exercise your brain cannot take in new information or generate the development of new cells. The quickest and most efficient way to become smarter, less stressed, less depressed and more energetic is to get your body moving.
7. Get enough sleep.
Research has proven that when you put yourself into sleep deprivation, not only does it put your performance in jeopardy but it impacts everyone else around you that depends upon you to perform at your peak. Copious studies have proven that sleep deprivation is the antithesis of intellectual management. Working around the clock makes you as dangerous to yourself and others as someone who is intoxicated. Getting enough sleep determines your ability to sustain attention and maintain intellectual excellence. It is such a simple thing to do, and yet so few discipline themselves to take care of what is directly under their control that can make a huge difference in their life and success. Don't let this be you.
8. How you dress.
What you wear has been proven to have a direct impact on enhancing your intelligence. The "Stroop Test" showed that people who wore lab jackets performed better on mental performance tests than those in the control group who did not wear the lab coat. There is power in a uniform. Embrace how important it is to dress for the professional role you play. For one, how you dress makes a direct statement to you about who you are and what your success-potential is. When you dress for you role, you perform for your role. Secondly, how you dress has an immediate impact on how others perceive you and your intellectual capacity. The more you dress for the occasion, the more valuable you will feel and the more seriously you will be taken. The brain responds not to just to knowledge but also to mood. When you dress better you feel better. The more you elevate your mood, the more open, flexible and intelligent you feel and are experienced by others when negotiating, interacting with colleagues or when presenting yourself to a group of people. For this reason, dress to impress.

How can I encourage intellectual growth in my five to 11-year-old?
It is important that parents and caregivers understand their child’s current intellectual stage so they can offer activities to support their child’s cognitive or intellectual growth. Creative and artistic play helps with learning and development by letting children engage in problem solving where there are no right answers. With creative activity, the process is more important than the end product.
Visits to the library will increase their vocabulary, imagination and desire to learn. A library card is a great way to introduce the concepts of borrowing and responsibility to a child.
Introduce your child to museums, new neighbourhoods and exhibitions.
Spend as much uninterrupted one-on-one time with your child as you can.
Avoid prolonged viewing of television, video and computer games.
Set up a homework space and routine in your home.
Talk to your child’s teacher if you are concerned about your child’s progress.

The Environment and Kids: Making the Connection
Here are 9 easy, everyday tips we can use to teach our kids to lighten their carbon footprint:
1. Conserve water
When brushing teeth, turn off the water.
Teach children about water-saver gardening through plant selection.
Show them how to water a lawn and garden properly.
2. Flick the switch
Turn off the light when you leave the room.
Turn off the TV if no one is watching it.
Finally, try turning off the air conditioner if the summer’s not too hot.
3. Close the door
Keep doors to the outside closed so you won’t let air conditioning or heat escape.
Don’t leave the refrigerator door open for too long while deciding what to eat.
4. Start a Garden
Start simple, with window-box herbs.
In addition, dedicate a section of your backyard to grow broccoli, lettuce, tomatoes, and much more.
Finally, involve the kids in cooking the harvest.
5. Avoid disposables

Putting together a basic budget is another step you can take towards successful saving. Once you’ve tracked where your money goes for a while, you’re able to categorize finances into needs and wants. To put it simply, to save money as a teenager, you’ll need to prioritize your needs and reduce spending on wants.
Calculating a savings goal is worthwhile as it allows you to include the specific amount in your budget. For example, if your goal is saving 100 Pesos per month for a summer vacation, you may need to spend less on new clothes or eating out.

Recognize Needs vs. Wants—and Spend Mindfully
It’s in your best interest to be mindful of the difference between “needs” and “wants”. Needs are things you have to have in order to survive: food, shelter, healthcare, transportation, a reasonable amount of clothing. It's also important to set aside money each month for savings, although that is much more contingent on your other needs being met first.
Conversely, wants are things you would like to have but don’t require for survival. These costs may be engrained in our daily lives, so they may feel like needs. Whether it's a streaming subscription that isn't necessary for survival or skipping a morning treat that is now part of your daily routine, wants are items that are non-essential.
Your needs should get top priority in your personal budget. Only after your needs have been met should you allocate any discretionary income toward wants. Again, if you do have money left over each week or each month after paying for the things you really need, you don’t have to spend it all.

Surround yourself with good people
A strong support system has a positive influence on your overall well-being. Try to keep a tight-knit circle with your loved ones and make an effort to seek them out during challenging moments. It’s a give-and-take, so be there when they need you, too.
Practice self-care
You practice self-care every day by doing activities such as brushing your teeth or eating fruit. But bringing intention and mindfulness to self-care is different, such as rewarding yourself after a job well done and taking time to recharge. Taking time for yourself can end up improving your relationships with others, so try not to underestimate the value of a little “you-time.”

It’s a lifelong skill that requires constant work. By nurturing your communication skills, you set yourself up to be a better leader, spouse, employee, parent, and friend. Try to practice active listening, make good eye contact, improve your posture, and make yourself heard through effective communication.

Study and do your best in school. There is a strong link between health and academic success.
Try to maintain a good relationship with your parents. Remember that they want what is best for you. Try to see where they are coming from when they set rules.
Develop a good balance between school, work, and social life.

Sa lahat ng gamit ng bitamina A sa katawan, pinakasikat na yata ang pampalinaw ng mata. Ngunit alam nyo ba na kailangan din ang bitaminang ito para labanan ang iba't ibang impeksiyon at para sa maayos na paglaki ng mga bata?
Ang bitamina A ay kailangan upang mapanatili ang normal na dami ng cells at matiyak na sapat ang mucous na nagpapanatiling basa at malagkit ang mga ilang bahagi ng katawan. Katulad nito ay ang gilid sa loob ng ating baga, lalamunan at bituka, pinagdadaanan ng ihi at ang ating mga nervous at reproductive systems. Ang mucous na galing sa mga cells ay may mga sangkap na nakapupuksa ng mga mikrobyo, kaya lumalakas ang resistensya at nalalabanan ang impeksiyon ng katawan. Kapag may kakulangan sa bitamina A, madaling dapuan ng sakit katulad ng sakit sa baga (respiratory infection) at pagtatae. Maaari ding lumala ang tigdas lalo na sa mga bata kung kulang sa bitamina A.
Bukod dito, ang bitamina A ay kailangan din para sa maayos na paglaki. Tumutulong ito sa paglaki ng mga buto o bone growth. Ang bitamina A ang nagpapanatili sa pagiging flexible ng mga buto para madali at normal ang paglaki nito.
Upang magkaroon ng sapat na bitamina A sa ating katawan, ugaliing kumain ng mga pagkaing mayaman sa bitaminang ito. Kabilang na dito ang atay, itlog, keso, dilis, mga lamang dagat tulad ng tahong at tulya, dilaw at berdeng gulay, at dilaw na prutas. Halimbawa ng dilaw at berdeng gulay ay carrot, kamatis, kalabasa, dahon ng malunggay, kamote, kangkong, pechay at saluyot. Ang mga prutas tulad ng mangga, papaya, saging at melon naman ay halimbawa ng mga dilaw na prutas. Marami na ring mga pagkain ang dinagdagan o fortified ng bitamina A tulad ng noodles, mga inumin, sawsawan, mantika at asukal. Piliin ang mga pagkain mayroong Sangkap Pinoy Seal (SPS) dahil ito ang mga pagkain dinagdagan ng bitamina A.
Kaya sa susunod na kakain ng mga pagkaing mayaman sa bitamina A, isipin ninyo na ito'y para mapanatiling malinaw ang mata at lumakas rin ang inyong resistensiya.
