Ang Melioidosis ay isang impeksiyong dulot ng bacteria na maaaring matagpuan sa lupa at maruming tubig. Maaaring makapasok ang bacteria sa katawan sa pamamagitan ng sugat o kapag nalanghap o nainom ang kontaminadong tubig o lupa.

👉 Para makaiwas:

🥾 Magsuot ng boots o sapatos at gloves kapag nasa putikan o lupa.

🩹 Takpan at linisin agad ang anumang sugat o galos.

🧼 Maghugas ng kamay gamit ang sabon at malinis na tubig pagkatapos humawak ng lupa o putik.

💧 Iwasang uminom ng hindi ligtas o maruming tubig.

🌧️ Mag-ingat lalo na pagkatapos ng malakas na ulan, baha, at pagbaha sa paligid.

🏥 Kung magkaroon ng lagnat o hindi magandang pakiramdam matapos ma-expose sa lupa o maruming tubig, agad na magpakonsulta sa health center.

The Municipal Health Office of Santa Ana, headed by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝘆𝗿𝗮 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗥. 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗮, through the PuroKalusugan Team of RHU Santa Ana, successfully conducted the PuroKalusugan Caravan in Sitio Pasmacanan, Barangay Patunungan on August 19, 2026, bringing essential health and nutrition services closer to this geographically isolated community.

The caravan provided a wide range of services, including 56 Vitamin A supplementations, 56 Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunizations (MR SIA), 16 routine immunizations, 16 Family Planning services, 7 laboratory services, 16 PhilPEN assessments, 4 diabetes screenings, 6 prenatal check-ups, and 22 medical consultations. The team also provided medicines to 24 beneficiaries and collected 4 water samples for water quality analysis as part of efforts to promote safe water and protect the community from waterborne diseases.

As part of the health education and Social and Behavior Change (SBC) component of the caravan, the team conducted health education sessions on Pinggang Pinoy, Breastfeeding, Hypertension, and Diabetes, providing practical information to help community members make healthier choices and adopt positive health practices.

The health team also extended selected services to residents of nearby sitios, including Pananacpan, Baribi, Sinago, Alegan, and Patunungan Proper, ensuring that essential health interventions reach more families despite the distance and challenging location of these communities.

This activity reflects the continued commitment of the Municipal Health Office of Santa Ana to bringing accessible and essential healthcare services closer to every community, especially those in geographically isolated areas.

𝗣𝗨𝗥𝗢𝗞𝗔𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗨𝗚𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗕𝗥𝗚𝗬. 𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗡

The Municipal Health Office of Santa Ana, headed by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝘆𝗿𝗮 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗥. 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗮, through the PuroKalusugan Team of RHU Santa Ana, successfully conducted the PuroKalusugan Caravan in Barangay Tangatan on August 7, 2026, led by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗧. 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘀, DOH Deployed Doctor to the Barrios (DTTB).

The caravan brought essential healthcare services closer to the community, providing 46 medical consultations, 3 immunizations, 6 prenatal check-ups, 4 laboratory services, 2 diabetes screenings, 6 sputum collections for TB screening, and 32 Phil PEN assessments. The team also distributed free medicines to 60 beneficiaries and provided 20 Kilatis Kutis soaps to support personal hygiene and health promotion.

As part of the Social and Behavior Change (SBC) component of the activity, health education sessions were conducted on Nutrition, Hypertension Awareness, Diabetes Mellitus Awareness, Safe Motherhood, Breastfeeding, Dengue Awareness, & YAKAP Benefits equipping community members with practical knowledge and encouraging healthier behaviors.

The Municipal Health Office extends its sincere appreciation to the Barangay Officials, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS), volunteers, and residents of Barangay Tangatan, headed by 𝗣𝘂𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗼, for their valuable support, cooperation, and active participation in making the caravan a successful and meaningful service to the community.

Through the continued efforts of the Municipal Health Office, together with our barangay partners and community health workers, we remain committed to bringing accessible healthcare services, preventive interventions, and health education closer to every community in Santa Ana.
