June 23, 2026 | Welcoming the Newest Thomasian Physician-Alumni

During the graduation ceremony of the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery Class of 2026, 437 graduates crossed an important threshold—from medical students to physicians, and from students of the University to lifelong members of the Thomasian alumni community.

The newest generation of Thomasian doctors took their oath as members of the University of Santo Tomas Medical Alumni Association, and were warmly congratulated and welcomed by USTMAA President Dr. Maria Luisa Aquino.

Membership in the alumni community is more than an affiliation. It is a continuing responsibility—to uphold the values of competence, commitment, and compassion; to honour the education and formation received; and to pay these gifts forward through service, mentorship, leadership, and meaningful contribution to the University and to society.

Today, we welcome 437 new physicians into a community bound not only by shared history, but by a shared duty to help shape the future of medicine.

May they carry the Thomasian spirit wherever they are called to serve—and may they always remember that graduation is not the end of their relationship with their Alma Mater, but the beginning of a lifelong covenant of gratitude, stewardship, and service.
