Seeing bIood during labor can be scary, but a small amount is often expected.

πŸ’‘ This can happen because:
β€’ the cervix is thinning and opening
β€’ tiny bIood vessels break as the cervix dilates
β€’ the mucus pIug is released (often called the bIoody show)

πŸ‘Ά Light bIeeding mixed with mucus is common as labor progresses.

⚠️ What’s not normal:
β€’ heavy bIeeding
β€’ bright red bIeeding soaking pads
β€’ bIeeding with severe pain

If that happens, medical attention is important.

A little bIood during labor often means your body is making progress.
