A Vitamin A Supplementation Activity was conducted among children aged 6–59 months in Barangay Batucan, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur as part of the efforts to promote proper nutrition and protect young children from Vitamin A deficiency.

🎯 Objectives:
• To provide Vitamin A supplementation to eligible children aged 6–59 months.
• To help prevent Vitamin A deficiency and its associated health risks.
• To support healthy growth, development, and immune function among young children.
• To educate parents and caregivers on the importance of proper nutrition and Vitamin A-rich foods.

🎯 Objectives:
• To promote awareness on the importance of vaccination in preventing vaccine-preventable diseases.
• To encourage parents and learners to participate in the National Immunization Program.
• To protect Grade 1 learners against measles, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria.
• To promote HPV vaccination among eligible female learners and help prevent HPV-related cancers.
• To strengthen health education and community support for childhood and adolescent immunization.

💗 OCTOBER 2026 | BHS BATUCAN PRENATAL SERVICES 💗

Objective: To promote safe motherhood and healthy pregnancies through regular prenatal care, early detection of pregnancy-related risks, and timely provision of essential maternal health services.

Prenatal services were provided at BHS Batucan every 1st to 3rd Tuesday of the month. The activity aimed to monitor the health and well-being of pregnant women and their unborn babies while ensuring access to appropriate health education, assessment, and interventions.

Services Rendered:

• Health advocacy and counseling
• Monitoring of vital signs and Body Mass Index (BMI)
• Fetal heart tone (FHT) monitoring using a Doppler
• Administration of Tetanus-Diphtheria (Td) vaccine
• Distribution of Ferrous Sulfate (FeSO₄) and Calcium Carbonate supplements
• Laboratory services provided by RHU Talacogon, including Complete Blood Count (CBC), Random Blood Sugar (RBS), Urinalysis (UA), and blood typing

Through regular prenatal checkups, health education, and proper monitoring, BHS Batucan continues to support the health and safety of mothers and their babies throughout pregnancy.

💉 OCTOBER 2026 | BHS BATUCAN NATIONAL IMMUNIZATION PROGRAM 💉

Objective: To reduce morbidity and mortality among infants and children caused by vaccine-preventable childhood diseases through timely and complete immunization.

The National Immunization Program (NIP) was successfully conducted at BHS Batucan throughout October 7, 2026. The NDP-assigned personnel, together with the Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Nutrition Scholars, conducted the monthly routine immunization every Wednesday of the 1st and 2nd week of the month.

During the activity, health education and counseling were provided to mothers and caregivers, emphasizing the importance of completing their children’s immunization schedule, protecting them from vaccine-preventable diseases, and promoting healthy growth and development.

Through continuous immunization and health education, we work together toward a healthier, safer, and better-protected community for every child. 💙

Bloodletting Activity 🩸

Bloodletting Activity was conducted at Barangay Batucan, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur on September 22, 2026. The activity aimed to encourage voluntary blood donation among community members and help ensure an adequate and safe supply of blood for patients who may require blood transfusion.

The activity was successfully conducted through the strong support and active participation of the BLGU officials headed by Hon. Edwin P. Castromayor. The activity was also made possible through the collaborative efforts of DTTB Dr. Lyka D. Semacio, MedTech Maam Maribelle Demegillo, Philippine Red Cross staff, and Barangay Health Workers.

Synchronized Clean-Up Drive – Kontra Dengue Campaign

A Synchronized Clean-Up Drive was conducted in Barangay Batucan, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur on October 3 & 4, 2026. The activity was conducted as part of the community’s Kontra Dengue Campaign, in response to the declaration of a province-wide dengue outbreak in Agusan del Sur.

The activity focused on eliminating potential mosquito breeding sites by promoting proper waste disposal, cleaning of surroundings, and removal of stagnant water in residential and community areas. It also aimed to strengthen community participation and awareness on dengue prevention and control.

The activity emphasized that community participation and health education are essential in preventing and controlling dengue, especially during a dengue outbreak.

Together, we stand Kontra Dengue! 💪🦟

A meaningful advocacy activity was conducted at Batucan Health Station (BHS) to strengthen awareness and community action against dengue. The activity was attended by our dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Sanitation and Awareness Workers (BSAWs), and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) in promoting dengue prevention and control.

Let us remember the 5S Kontra Dengue Strategy:
🔎 Search and destroy mosquito-breeding places
🛡️ Self-protection measures
💧 Seek early consultation for signs and symptoms
🦟 Support fogging/spraying in hotspot areas when indicated
💧 Sustained Hydration
