A newborn holding on to his placenta, his source of nourishment, his lifeline throughout the journey in the womb, still not quite ready to let go of his very first home.

For nine months, the placenta was his connection to life, quietly nourishing and protecting him. And in this tender moment, it feels as though he is holding on to the last piece of the world he has ever known.
