World Food Day
According to the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), a poverty and hunger watchdog, around one in five of Pakistan's more than 200 million people are malnourished.
The vast majority of the world's hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished. Asia is the continent with the most hungry people - two thirds of the total.
As far as our country is concerned, according to the World Food Programme, 43 percent of Pakistan's population faces food insecurity. Of this number, 18 percent of people in Pakistan severely lack access to food.
Pakistan ranked 106 out of 119 countries on the Global Hunger Index (GHI) with a score of 32.6, second only to Afghanistan in the region.
Food is the most important thing of life and without it we can't imagine a lively and healthy life. But due to adverse & mismanaged circumstances, there are human beings on this planet who have no access to the food. Thus there's need to strive for the availability of safe food to each and every human being.
Let's join our hands against the lack of food and strive to remove the clutches of hunger by not wasting our food!
